MALCOLM WINTERS IS HOME AND THE REVOLVING DOOR IS NOT SLOWING DOWN

TL;DR: Shemar Moore is finally back as Malcolm Winters on The Young and the Restless this week, Vivica A. Fox returns alongside him as Dr. Stephanie Simmons, Nikki Crawford is back as Lexie Carver who wakes up alive on Days of Our Lives after being pronounced dead in 2012, Vico Escorcia debuts as the new Ari Horton, Sofia Mattsson jumps from General Hospital to Salem, the Hawthorne matriarch walks back into Fairmont Crest on Beyond the Gates, and the revolving door across all five soaps is wide open.

The Young and the Restless: Shemar Moore Is Home

The wait is over. Shemar Moore is back in Genoa City as Malcolm Winters, and this is not a cameo. Moore makes his first appearance on Tuesday, April 7, and airs Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday in scenes with Christel Khalil‘s Lily and others. He originally played Malcolm from 1994 to 2005 and has made occasional returns over the years, but this short term run has been building anticipation since the casting news dropped in February. Malcolm is coming home with a secret, and Genoa City is about to find out what it is.

Arriving alongside Moore is Vivica A. Fox, who resurrects the role of Dr. Stephanie Simmons on Tuesday, April 7. Fox initially portrayed Stephanie from 1994 to 1995. Look for an emotional reunion between Malcolm and Stephanie on Wednesday, followed by scenes together on Thursday and Friday as their complicated past catches up to them. These two showing up at the same time is not a coincidence, and Genoa City has no idea what is about to hit.

Also back this week, Roger Howarth returns as the villainous Matt Clark, backing his longtime adversary Joshua Morrow‘s Nick into a corner on Friday.

Days of Our Lives: Lexie Carver Wakes Up, Ari Horton Gets a New Face, and a GH Star Jumps Ship

Days of Our Lives has the most loaded casting week in all of daytime. Nikki Crawford is back as Lexie Carver, who wakes up alive on Thursday, April 9 after being pronounced dead in 2012. Lexie has been in EJ’s lab for weeks, Paulina has been sitting on the secret, and Theo is about to see his mother open her eyes. Crawford shares screen time with Tyler Joseph Andrews‘ Theo, and what Lexie remembers when she wakes is going to change everything in Salem.

Vico Escorcia debuts as Arianna Horton on Wednesday, April 8, replacing Marissa Reyes, who exited the role in March after ten months in Salem. Escorcia shares scenes with Ashley Puzemis‘ Holly as the two teens attempt to repair their friendship. Reyes gave Ari her foundation and the new actress steps into a role that already has momentum.

Al Calderon resurfaces as Javi Hernandez on Friday, April 10, surprising his cousin Rafe.

And in a move that crosses network lines, Sofia Mattsson has joined Days of Our Lives in a new role yet to be disclosed. Mattsson portrayed Sasha Gilmore on General Hospital from 2018 to 2025 and has already begun filming in Salem. Because of the show’s advanced production schedule, her first episodes are not expected to air until early 2027. The role is being kept tightly under wraps, but a seven year General Hospital veteran landing in Salem is the kind of casting that does not happen quietly.

General Hospital: A Farewell, a Broadway Crossover, and Familiar Faces

General Hospital said goodbye to Adrian Anchondo‘s Marco Rios this week. The character was killed off after being stabbed by double agent Ross Cullum, and his funeral aired on Friday, April 3. Anchondo debuted on General Hospitalin March 2025 and reflected on his time in a recent interview, calling the exit powerful. Nearly 80 episodes in one year. He made every one of them count.

Vernee Watson gets more airtime as Stella Henry, making a request of Brook Kerr‘s Portia on Monday.

And in a crossover that has never been done before, Entertainment Weekly reports that Giovanni Mazza‘s Gio Palmieriand Braedyn Bruner‘s Emma Scorpio-Drake are headed to Broadway’s Aladdin on April 24 at the New Amsterdam Theatre. The storyline explains that Gio befriended Michael James Scott while playing violin in a Broadway orchestra pit. Scott, who has played Genie in Aladdin since 2019, then turns up in Port Charles on May 4 to visit Gio and performs “Friend Like Me” onstage at The Savoy. Daytime to Broadway is a first, and Port Charles is about to get a whole new stage.

Beyond the Gates: Darlene Hawthorne Is Home

Fairmont Crest gets a new face this week. Monique Mosee debuts as Darlene Hawthorne on Tuesday, April 7, when Izaiah Hawthorne and Eva Thomas sit down for lunch with his mom. Watch for Leslie Thomas to crash the lunch and cause a whole lot of drama for the family.

The Bold and the Beautiful: Lisa Yamada Was Spotted on Set

The Bold and the Beautiful has a quiet week on the casting front, but Lisa Yamada was spotted on set for the show’s 39th anniversary. In a recent interview, Yamada did not close the door on a return. “I believe that she’s dead, but that’s to say that stranger things have happened on this show,” Yamada teased about her character Luna Nozawa. Stranger things indeed. Stay tuned.
