Stop everything you’re doing, Young and the Restless fans, because executive producer and headwriter Josh Griffith just dropped a 2026 preview that has us questioning reality itself. According to TV Insider, Victor Newman and Jack Abbott are going to “have to work together for the greater good” in the new year. Yes, you read that correctly. Victor. And Jack. TOGETHER.
These two men have spent decades trying to destroy each other. Victor has literally been waging war on Jabot for months, using stolen AI software to bring Jack to his knees. And now they’re going to be on the same side? Griffith himself wondered if they can pull it off “without killing each other.” Honestly? Same, Josh. Same.

Cane Ashby Forces This Unholy Alliance
So what could possibly force these two titans of industry to bury decades of hatred? Cane Ashby, that’s what. Despite all his efforts to win Lily Winters back and prove he’s changed, Cane is apparently going to resume his attacks on Genoa City’s power players in 2026. Whatever he’s planning is threatening enough to unite Victor Newman and Jack Abbott against him.
Speaking of Cane and Lily, Griffith teased the question fans are dying to know: “Is there a future for him and Lily? Is there a way that Lily will ever be able to forgive him?” He promised we’ll find out in 2026. Billy Flynn is going to be very busy playing both villain and lovesick ex!
Adam and Chelsea Are Going DARK
Here’s where it gets juicy. Victor’s efforts to protect the Newman legacy will pull Adam Newman and Chelsea Lawson into the mix, and Griffith promised “exciting stuff” for Chadam. But here’s the warning: the couple “will be forced to tap back into the darker aspects of their characters” to help Victor. Dark Adam and Dark Chelsea? We are HERE for this villain era!
And they’re not the only couple in danger when “things go really horribly wrong for the Newmans.” Michael Baldwin will continue getting “sucked back into Victor’s world,” and that push-pull will seriously affect his relationship with Lauren Fenmore. When Newman drama spills over onto Michael and Lauren, you know it’s serious.
“Massive, Massive Fallout” for Jack and Diane
Meanwhile, there will be “massive, massive fallout” for Jack and Diane stemming from what Victor and Nikki do to “slap Jack down.” Yes, Griffith said massive TWICE. Whatever Victor and Nikki have planned is going to rock the Abbott household to its core.
But here’s the silver lining in the AI war: Billy Abbott and Phyllis Summers might finally be “coming out on top, winning, getting something big.” The catch? Griffith ominously asked “but at what price?” Nothing comes free in Genoa City!
Matt Clark’s “Huge Showdown” Is Coming
Matt Clark isn’t done terrorizing Genoa City. Griffith revealed that Matt will make “a lot of new enemies” while causing even more problems for Nick, Sharon, Noah, Sienna, and the entire Newman family. Just when they think he’s out of the picture, “we find out he’s not.”
The entire Matt Clark storyline is “heading towards a huge showdown that will incorporate a lot of aspects of the past in a very dramatic way.” Roger Howarth is clearly having a blast playing this villain, and 2026 is going to give him plenty of material.
A Mystery Rocks Devon and Abby
In shocking news, one of Genoa City’s most stable couples is facing trouble. Griffith teased “a big mystery” involving Devon Hamilton-Winters and Abby Newman that ties into Mariah Copeland and Tessa Porter’s crumbling marriage and Tessa’s spark with Daniel Romalotti. Christine Williams will have to “put back on her lawyer hat” to help someone who’s “in big trouble” coming out of that story.
Secrets, Reunions, and Romantic Chaos
The romantic shakeups keep coming! Nate Hastings and Victoria Newman are going to “see if they want to try again” after Victor blew up their relationship the first time. Meanwhile, Audra Charles and Holden Novak are doing “everything they can” to keep their secret buried, but Claire Newman is doing “everything she can to bring it out into the light.” Kyle Abbott is also part of this messy dynamic, and Griffith warned “when it finally comes out, there’s going to be a lot of fallout.”
Billy Abbott’s relationship with Sally Spectra is also hitting turbulence. Sally will “have to question whether she really knows Billy as well as she thought she did,” which will lead to “big decisions” about their future.
Finally, Y&R will celebrate Jess Walton’s 40th anniversary as the beloved Jill Abbott in 2026. Griffith promised the show “will definitely recognize” that milestone!
Griffith summed up what’s ahead perfectly: 2026 will be “jam-packed with intrigue, mystery, suspense, and love” with “fun surprises” in store. We cannot WAIT!
