The annual GCAC gala had its fair share of drama this year, with tensions running high and unexpected events unfolding. From a scuffle between Phyllis and Diane to an engagement announcement that shocked the room, here’s a recap of everything that went down.

The chaos begins when the scene opens with the three women in a suite. Jack pulls Diane off of Phyllis, who declares, “She was trying to kill me!” Summer follows her mother out of the suite. Meanwhile, Chelsea beats herself up for making Billy leave the gala. Billy reassures Chelsea that he is ready to lose the tux.

As the night progresses, Lily dances with Daniel, and they both feel hopeful. However, things take a turn for the worse when Phyllis tells Summer that Diane was trying to kill her. Summer questions why her mother is acting so weird. Phyllis cries that she’s lost everything and she’s so tired. Summer wants to know why her mother was in the suite with Diane.

Diane tells Jack and Kyle that Phyllis lured her up there by saying Kyle was sick. Jack doesn’t think they should announce their engagement tonight. Meanwhile, Audra tries unsuccessfully to order a drink, and Abby asks Devon if he’s having second thoughts about dropping the lawsuit. Amanda glares at Abby and Devon. Devon and Abby kiss, while Nick checks if Sally’s okay since she seems tense. Adam watches, and Sharon notices where Adam is looking and tells him he’ll have to get used to it.

Danny has come in with his sister Gina, and Leanna Love walks up and wants the scoop on the reunion tour. Danny refuses to comment. Sharon tells Adam it’s easy to put up with him now that there are no lingering feelings. Sally tells Nick she feels like everyone is staring because of her baby bump.

Later, Audra walks up to Kyle, Jack, and Diane and tells Kyle she found his phone on the bar. Summer knows who Audra is and reminds her that she emotionally destroyed her brother. Jack apologizes to Diane for doubting her. Jack feels his pockets and gasps, “I can’t find the ring.” Jeremy congratulates Phyllis on her scuffle with Diane.

Traci walks up with Gina, and Jack hugs her. Danny advises his son to accept his mother for the way she is. Jack begins speaking and thanks the organizers before launching into a speech. Jack announces that he and Diane are engaged. Everyone applauds, Jack and Diane kiss, Nikki turns to look aghast at Victor, and Ashley gawps.

Chelsea heads upstairs at Crimson Lights, while Sally marvels to Nick about people being so certain about love. Victor and Nikki complain about Jack and Diane stealing the show. Phyllis interrupts the party and does a loud slow clap for Jack and Diane.

Despite the chaos, the night ends on a happy note with Jack and Diane’s engagement. However, the events that unfolded at the gala will undoubtedly have ripple effects on the characters in the coming episodes.
