Alan’s Increasing Peculiarities in Genoa City
Y&R’s Alan seems more & more peculiar the longer he spends time in Genoa City. After arriving at a moment’s notice to help Ashley, he continues to extend his stay at a moment’s notice as he reacts to each version of Ashley Abbott. Now Alan has offered to not leave Ashley Abbott’s side after she has checked into a proper mental health care facility which he has vetted in Europe.
Seriously, what’s up with this guy on Young & the Restless?
Alan’s Support for Ashley and Calls for Backup
Either Ashley Abbott’s (Eileen Davidson) psychologist friend from Paris, Alan Laurent (Christopher Cousins), has the best professional backup on the planet or he really isn’t that great & has nothing to do. How else would Alan be able to reschedule his obligations & travel plans time & time again as he meets with the variety of Ashley Abbott’s personas on Y&R?
Also, let’s not forget that when Ashley’s sister Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland) reached out to Alan & asked him to fly to Genoa City on behalf of the Abbott family to help Ashley he arrived in less time than it takes most Y&R women change their clothes within a week of episodes on CBS.
Alan Out of Nowhere, Or, The Same Place as Graham
Remember “Graham”? The mysterious man who brought John Abbott’s (the late Jerry Douglas), one-time wife & the mother of all his children but Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson). After John’s passing Graham from out of nowhere brought Dina Mergeon (the late Marla Adams) back to Genoa City from Europe. Graham’s intentions were not above board & he didn’t last long after arriving in Genoa City. Graham was a decent-looking man, professional & personal, but something seemed a bit off.
Have Young & the Restless fans already seen this movie? Is Alan the next Graham to wreak havoc with the Abbott Family?
Rehab for Ashley in Paris, Shorter Than Her Flight Time?
In light of Nikki Newman’s (Melody Thomas Scott) insta-in-&-out from rehab in Genoa City on Y&R, it seems that if the Abbotts do support Alan taking Ashley to Paris for treatment. If comparable, Ashley will be back home in less time than it takes to fly back & forth from Genoa City to France.
Unless… Something is totally up with Alan. If Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) & Traci agree to this treatment play with or without Billy Abbott, there will be regrets.
Family Dynamics and Concerns
Speaking of regrets, where the hell has Ashley Abbott’s daughter Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) been with her support or lack of it? Tucker McCall (Trevor St. John) has been far more helpful to Ashley than her daughter.

Allen told Tracy when she first contacted him about helping Ashley that he was retired, but he would be happy to help. After reading others comments, I agree he may have more to do with what caused her personality problem.
