Electra Forrester Finally Takes Responsibility

A phone reminder of her anniversary with Will sent Electra Forrester spiraling at the design office, and RJ Forresternoticed immediately that something was wrong. He pushed her to actually talk about it instead of bottling it up, reminding her she’s allowed to feel more than one thing at once. That gentle nudge worked. Electra admitted she overreacted, that none of this was really Dylan’s fault, and that blaming her for moving on with Will wasn’t fair considering Electra was the one who let him go in the first place.

Why Would RJ Forrester Apologize for “Coming on Too Strong”?

That phrase doesn’t belong in a conversation between two people who only see each other as colleagues. Coming on too strong implies RJ actually made a move, or came close enough to one that he felt the need to walk it back today. Add in the fact that he specifically apologized for trashing Will, and it starts to look less like RJ giving Electra career advice and more like RJ working through his own jealousy over her ex. He didn’t apologize for being overprotective or for being a bad friend, he apologized for something with a distinctly romantic edge to it.

Electra, for her part, didn’t push back on any of it. She didn’t ask him to clarify what he meant by “too strong,” she only accepted the apology and moved straight into talk of their future together running the youth line. Whether that’s Electra missing an obvious signal or Electra quietly noticing it and letting it pass for now is exactly the kind of ambiguity this show loves to stretch out. Given how raw she still is over Will, it’s entirely possible she genuinely didn’t clock what RJ was actually confessing to.

RJ and Electra are already spending their days locked in secret meetings about their new business together, which is precisely the kind of setup this show uses to turn platonic partnerships into something else entirely. Zende joining the team only adds more time the three of them will spend together, giving RJ even more opportunities to let his guard slip again the way he did today.

Electra recently watched Will move on with someone new and admitted out loud that she’s still processing it. If RJ has been sitting on real feelings for her while helping her build the biggest opportunity of her career, the timing of her finally being single again could not be more convenient for him.

Electra Forrester let it go without asking him to explain, but this show has a long history of letting exactly that kind of silence build until it can’t anymore.
