Beyond the Gates Spoilers Next 2 Weeks: Joey and Vernon Threaten Hayley as Tyrell’s Girlfriend Blindsides the Duprees

HAYLEY’S TAPES JUST TURNED HER INTO A TARGET

Hayley’s tapes bought her freedom, and on Monday they put a target on her back: Joey called her “a dead woman walking” after Randy stonewalled him, and Vernon promised Anita he would “neutralize the threat if necessary.” Elon fears he could lose everything if she talks, while Tyrell blindsided the Duprees by bringing home Anastasia’s granddaughter. Hayley is still set to score a win Tuesday, and this week’s promo shows a hand clamped over her mouth. Beyond the Gates Spoilers: This Week (October 5 to 9)

Monday, October 5
Anita’s homecoming party looked like a celebration and played like a war council. Vernon decided he had no choice and told Anita that Hayley is blackmailing Bill, and with what. Andre made a pointed remark to Dani about her worrying over Bill, then vented that she had put herself in danger. Martin butted heads with Jacob Hawthorne before agreeing to apologize, accepting that Jacob is just doing his job, and Jacob and Naomi Hamilton Hawthorne agreed to leave their work fight at the door. Then Tyrell Richardson introduced his girlfriend, Francesca, and jaws hit the floor: she is the granddaughter of Anastasia Belleclaire.

Izaiah caught his father and Vernon whispering about Hayley, and the hour’s last scenes showed why. Anita, Vernon, Elon and Ted met in the Dupree dining room, where Elon said he could lose everything, Darlene included, if Hayley talks, and that he doesn’t have the Duprees’ resources. Vernon promised it won’t get that far, and when family members wandered in, Anita claimed they were discussing Leslie. Joey, told by Bill that Hayley knows about the cover-up, leaned on Randy Parker, and when Randy stonewalled, Joey warned that Hayley is now “a dead woman walking.” Then, with everyone headed for the party bus to Banneker, Vernon told Anita not to worry about Hayley, because he will “neutralize the threat if necessary!”

Vanessa skipped the party to lay low at the club, and Deanna McBride butted heads with her over it. Nicole and Deanna agreed Vanessa would be better off without Joey, though Nicole said Vanessa has earned the right to make her own call. Dani urged Deanna not to let things get too bad, but once Deanna reached the club, all she could do was beg her mother to ditch Joey before it’s too late. Back at the party, Jacob, Chelsea and Naomi couldn’t miss how much fun Izaiah and Kat, who each came solo, were having together.

Tuesday, October 6
An update from Anita and Dani blindsides Nicole, and Vernon makes it clear which lines Bill would be wise not to cross. Hayley looks set to score a big win at a big cost, and nobody has said who pays for it. Leslie tries to explain her actions all over again, and Jacob confronts his brother, Izaiah. Kat’s bold words leave Eva shaken, and Chelsea issues a warning.

Wednesday, October 7
Vernon rides to someone’s rescue. Dani presses Bill while Andre visits his uncle, Ted, and leaves him troubled. Hayley, who likes to think she’s ready for anything, gets caught totally off guard. Eva faces the future while Izaiah’s mind is somewhere else, Leslie stirs up drama, and Marcel Malone and Joey put their powers of persuasion to work.

Thursday, October 8
Andre dredges up something from Dani’s past. Anita finds comfort in music, and Nicole lays her cards on the table with Vanessa. Leslie wants to be Hayley’s best friend and winds up leaving her scrambling, and Randy is fed up with his cousin. Ted and Ashley Morgan are in cahoots, and Noah Rollins helps Deanna see things from a different angle.

Friday, October 9
Vernon shares the ugly truth with Anita. Nicole keeps a promise, Naomi refuses to back down, and Madison Montgomery leans on Chelsea after risking it all. Smitty draws a hard line with Martin, Joey and Vanessa hear Heather out, and Ted and Shanice take a trip that proves unforgettable.

Also in the promo this week
Three scenes have no day attached yet. Randy tells Joey he’s “not going to beg,” Joey answers, “We’re long past begging, Randy,” and a gun ends up pointed his way. Hayley brushes off another call with “Not now, Leslie,” and a hand covers her mouth and pulls her away. And in his office, Bill tells Dani, “Whatever my life is, from this point on, I owe it to you.”

Beyond the Gates Spoilers: Next Week (October 12 to 16)

Previews for the week of October 12 had not posted as of October 5, so this part is our read on where the threads point, not a schedule. Start with the Duprees. Anita already knows about the blackmail, so Friday’s “ugly truth” has to be something more. Our bet is that she learns how deep Vernon’s own part in burying Martin’s roadside killing really goes, and a woman who just beat cancer is not going to file that away quietly.

Then there’s Joey. He called Hayley a dead woman walking on Monday, Vernon wants the threat neutralized, and by the end of this week the promo has a gun aimed at Randy and Hayley being dragged off. If I know these writers, next week is about who has Hayley and what happens to those tapes.

Heather is the wild card. Viewers know she set up the carjacking, Joey suspects it, and Vanessa is digging into a holding company without knowing Heather owns it. Don’t be surprised if Vanessa connects those dots after Friday’s talk with Heather, and that’s when Joey has to choose between his sister and the woman he loves.

Looking further out, CBS’s fall preview promises a devastating public blow for Smitty, a bump in the road for Anita’s Articulettes revival, trouble with Deanna over Vanessa’s romance with Joey, and turbulence for Dani and Andre as Bill and Hayley pull her deeper into her ex’s life. It also teases Ted and Shanice getting more serious and Madison standing by Chelsea as she and Kat face a scandal. The show’s 15 Daytime Emmy nominations are up on October 30, and Season 3 premieres Tuesday, December 29.

Hayley’s Tapes and Who Knows About Them
On September 25 Dani made sure Hayley couldn’t get through the Fairmont Crest gates, and her credit cards and joint bank accounts were cut off. Three days later Hayley played her trump card: recordings of Bill’s private talks about Martin’s roadside killing and how it was buried. Bill folded, and the charges went away. Since then Dani, Vernon, Elon, Anita and Ted have learned about the tapes, Joey has called her a dead woman walking, Chelsea and Kat suspect blackmail, Randy wants his 25 percent, and Leslie is the closest thing Hayley has to a friend. That is a lot of people for one woman to keep happy.

Vernon and Anita’s Reckoning
On Monday Vernon told Anita that Hayley is blackmailing Bill and what she has, then promised he would “neutralize the threat if necessary.” He puts Bill on notice Tuesday, rides to someone’s rescue Wednesday and shares an ugly truth Friday. The show hasn’t said what that truth is, but Vernon was one of the men who kept Martin’s roadside killing quiet. Anita has already shown she won’t tolerate anyone who threatens her family, and this time the secret sleeps next to her.

Dani Between Two Men
Dani is the one who figured out Hayley was poisoning Bill, and the promo has him telling her he owes her whatever life he has left. On Monday Andre vented that she had put herself in danger. She presses Bill on Wednesday, and on Thursday Andre digs up something from her past. Andre has his own secrets, starting with the London history with Heather he has never fully shared. Smitty Under Suspicion
The pouch in the Uptown video tested positive for residue matching the drug that killed Lia, and Smitty sat through a police interview with Martin and Naomi in his corner. He still says the footage is doctored and that The Impaler is setting him up. Martin has stood by him with his re-election on the line, which makes Friday’s hard line from Smitty the beat to watch. Nobody has said what that line is about.

Did Bill drop the charges against Hayley?
Yes. Bill agreed to Hayley’s terms on September 28, and on October 1 she announced she no longer faces charges. In return she keeps quiet about her recordings. Bill and Hayley are still legally married, and his divorce papers are a plan, not a filing.

Who carjacked Vanessa?
Heather set it up. Viewers saw her learn from London on October 2 that the plan worked. She denied it to Joey, and Vanessa still doesn’t know.

Who is Tyrell’s girlfriend?
Francesca. Tyrell introduced her at the Duprees’ homecoming party on October 5, and she is the granddaughter of Anastasia Belleclaire.

Who threatened Hayley?
Two men, on October 5. Joey told Randy that Hayley is now “a dead woman walking,” and Vernon told Anita he would “neutralize the threat if necessary.” Neither has made a move yet.

Does Anita know about Hayley’s blackmail?
Yes. Vernon told her on October 5 that Hayley is blackmailing Bill and with what. The “ugly truth” he shares with her on Friday, October 9 has not been named.

Has Smitty been charged?
No. He was questioned on October 1 after the pouch tested positive, and as of October 2 he had not been charged or arrested.
