Dani’s Break-In Goes Sideways

Naomi shows up at her mom’s place expecting a normal visit and instead gets handed a dollar bill and a bombshell: Bill Hamilton passed out again, and Dani Dupree has a theory nobody asked for. “Hayley has been poisoning him,” she announces, with the confidence of a woman who has clearly been marinating on this theory for a while. Naomi, ever the lawyer, points out that you cannot just say things like that, but Dani is undeterred, laying out Bill’s life insurance policy, Hayley Lawson‘s faked ultrasound, and her own long-standing conviction that Hayley is a “doe-eyed liar” who’s cheating on the side. Naomi admits she was weird about Hayley hoarding Bill’s food, and just like that, the case is basically closed in Dani’s mind.

There’s just one problem: no warrant, and barely any evidence beyond vibes. So Dani does what any reasonable person would do and demands the passcode to Bill’s house so she can raid his spice rack for poison. Naomi, horrified but also strangely helpful, agrees to distract Hayley in exchange for Dani’s gun, and sends Hayley a text to meet up at the club. Over at Bill’s place, Dani sneaks in and starts bagging Smarties, booze, and anything else that looks incriminating, then moves on to lifting paintings off the wall to hunt for hidden safes holding Bill’s insurance policy and prenup, which she photographs like she’s auditioning for a crime procedural. Naomi’s distraction buys some time, right up until it doesn’t. Hayley finishes up at the club, heads home, and walks straight into Dani mid-search, no warrant, no explanation, and absolutely no way to talk her way out of this one.

Bill’s Mystery Illness Escalates

At the hospital, Madison Montgomery presses Bill on his seizures, which flat out don’t match anything on his chart. She rushes a CT scan and comes back with nothing useful, which is either good news or deeply unsettling depending on how you feel about unexplained brain activity. Bill refuses to let his wife be notified and pushes Madison to work faster, prioritizing speed over, you know, actually figuring out what’s wrong with him.

Over at the club, Caroline Lee and Hayley are winding down post-massage when Hayley calls her husband, who claims he’s stuck in Richmond handling an emergency, a lie so smooth it barely counts as one anymore. Bill texts Caroline to come to his hospital room, and once there, he unloads his fears about how his wife sees him. “You’re no doddering old coot,” she reassures him, agreeing to run interference with Hayley while he stresses over whether his wife might actually be stepping out on him, which, considering he’s actively lying to her from a hospital bed, is a genuinely wild thing to worry about. Meanwhile, Chelsea Hamilton storms in with takeout and a lot of questions, spots Caroline leaving, panics, and barges straight into her father’s room demanding answers Madison’s been withholding to respect his wishes.

Nicole and Jacob Profile The Impaler

At the police station, Nicole Dupree Richardson sits down with Jacob to build out a profile on The Impaler, and her read is chillingly precise: highly educated, thrives on secrecy, rules through fear, and textbook malignant narcissist. Jacob sums it up with admirable bluntness, “a cold-blooded charming egomaniac,” and Nicole confirms his instincts were right all along, though she’s careful to note the weak spot is finding the right buttons to push. Talk turns to Smitty, currently being questioned in connection to the case, and while Jacob can’t say much, Nicole respects the boundary while quietly worrying about what this investigation is doing to his personal life outside the interrogation room.
