Belle Black Took the Call That Changed Everything at the Pub

The Days of Our Lives recap September 23, 2026 opens over lunch at the pub, with three women and one very absent mother. Marlena Evans told Belle Black and Sydney DiMera how lovely it was to have her granddaughter in town, and how she wished Sami Brady would come too. Sydney said a trip home is not in the cards right now. Belle knows she is part of the reason.

Then Belle stepped away for a phone call and came back with the sentence of the week. Dominic Marino went to an exclusive boarding school, and his roommate there was Dante Vitali, the man engaged to Sami.

Both women turned to Sydney, who knew nothing. Dante had never mentioned the billionaire, and Sydney, who owes her job to him, could not see the big deal. She offered to ask him and Belle said no, which tells you where Belle’s head is. More Salem coverage here.

Once Sydney was gone, Belle and Marlena said it out loud. Dominic’s old roommate just happened to meet Sami and propose to her? Neither of them is buying that as a coincidence, and neither should you.

Johnny DiMera got to work and found Theo’s resignation letter, handwritten and waiting. EJ DiMera stormed in angry, and Johnny cut the rant short. George had already read him the riot act, and he has had his hands full at home.

Then Johnny said what he really thinks. Lying to everyone for his father disgusts him. He is the CEO, EJ does not get to tell him how to run it, and he is cleaning this up the right way. EJ pushed him to stop denying the DiMera in him, and Johnny reminded him who was left holding the bag with George. A text from George ended the meeting.

George O’Halloran Promised EJ That Sarah Horton Takes the Blame

At the mansion, George O’Halloran laid out the plan. He and Rita Lesley are setting up Sarah Horton to look like a disgruntled employee who only made accusations against DiMera Pharma to save her own skin. Sarah, George promised, will be the only one found culpable.

EJ liked the sound of that and made the terms plain. If this does not go away, George takes the fall. Alone, EJ thought back to Italy, looked up at the portrait of Stefano DiMera and asked, “Father, what have you done?”

Sydney Wants to Stay While Johnny Wants Out

Outside the pub, Johnny caught up with his sister. Sydney is thinking about staying longer and working remotely. Johnny told her to go back to Italy and said that if he could snap his fingers and move his family there, he would. That is the CEO talking, one scene after he claimed the throne.

Theo Carver Told Abe Carver He Quit DiMera

Theo Carver met his father Abe Carver in Horton Town Square and admitted he should never have taken the DiMera job. He cannot trust Johnny, he was lied to his face, so he resigned. Abe told him Lexie Carver would be proud of him for following his conscience.

Theo is weighing a job offer from Gabi Hernandez but is not sure the two of them can work together. Abe told him to trust his gut. When Johnny sat down with Sydney nearby, Theo left.

Days of Our Lives Recap: Maggie Kiriakis Cannot Trust Philip Again

Maggie Kiriakis got home to the Horton house and caught Julie Williams up on the Titan news. Julie went straight to history: Philip Kiriakis once owed the Vitalis, Ava Vitali ordered a hit on him, and Brady Black got caught in the crossfire. Mind the Vitali name, too, because Dante is Ava’s cousin.

Maggie knows how an addict justifies a slip, because she did it with alcohol. She does not know how she trusts Philip again. Julie told her to back him anyway, and the two ended up planning doughnuts for Chanel DiMera‘s baby shower.
