If I know these writers, Chanel hears that phone call, puts the pieces together and decides her family is not growing up inside that house.

Could the heartbreak version still win? It could. A new mother still in treatment is the most painful card a soap can play. But this couple has already survived Sophia’s revenge and a pregnancy spent in chemo, and a quiet flight to Italy would be the kind of reward the show rarely hands out.
