SHANICE JOHNSON IS ENGAGED TO THE WRONG DOCTOR

TL;DR: Beyond the Gates fans watched Shanice Johnson say yes to Ted Richardson, and plenty of viewers wanted to yell “wait!” at the screen. She’s warm, loyal and way too good for a man whose life comes with a permanent family crisis. With Carlton Fitzgerald’s fling with Heather taking a sharp turn in the BTG spoilers, the better man might be right down the hall. An engagement isn’t a wedding, after all.

Shanice Said Yes to a Lot of Baggage

Shanice Johnson is engaged to Ted Richardson, and fans are happy for her in the way you’re happy for a friend who bought a house with a cracked foundation. She’s warm, funny, grounded, and loyal. Ted has history, baggage, and a family that comes with its own fire alarm.

Her own family isn’t sold. Her brothers rolled into Fairmont Crest and made it clear what they thought of Ted. They were blunt about it, and plenty of fans at home were nodding along. Now those brothers get to hear the news that he’s about to be family.

That’s the problem with Ted. He’s charming, he’s successful, and he never seems to be the easiest man to love. Every step forward with him comes with a family meeting, a secret, or a fresh round of drama. Shanice deserves easy for once.

Carlton Is the Better Fit

Enter Carlton Fitzgerald, Ted’s own colleague. He covered for Ted at work so Ted could go meet Shanice’s brothers, and he even joked that marriage might be next since Ted isn’t the meet-the-family type. He called it.

Carlton is easygoing, funny, and doesn’t seem to bring an entire family feud through the door with him.

Picture Shanice and Carlton sharing a laugh in the hospital hallway. Imagine how relaxed she’d look with a man who doesn’t come with a list of complications. Could Shanice Johnson have said yes to the wrong doctor?

Heather Was Never the Answer

Carlton’s love life right now is a one-night stand with Heather Armstrong, and the spoilers say that dalliance is about to take a sharp turn. That could mean a lot of things, and none of them sound good for Carlton.

Heather is chaos in heels. Carlton jumped in with her almost the minute they met, and now he’s about to find out what that costs. Once the dust settles, he’s going to need someone steady. Shanice is about the steadiest woman in Fairmont Crest.

Is it possible Carlton figures that out a little too late? A man who has seen Heather up close would know exactly how rare Shanice is, ring or no ring.

Ted, Take Eva on the Next Trip

Ted already got his romantic getaway. Here’s what he should do next: take his daughter, Eva Thomas, on a trip of her own. Eva is snapping at Kat and could use some quality time with her father, plus a long talk about her attitude before she becomes Shanice’s stepdaughter.

While Ted plays dad, Shanice stays home with wedding magazines. Nobody is saying she’d cheat. Shanice Johnson is not that woman, and fans love her for it.

But a few coffee runs, a little banter, and a spark she didn’t expect? That’s how soap romances start. Wouldn’t it be fun to watch Ted come home and notice his fiancée is smiling at somebody else’s jokes?

Team Ted or Team Carlton? Drop your pick for Shanice in the comments!

A Ring Isn’t a Vow

Ted is not a villain. He’s a complicated man with a complicated family, and Shanice has been patient with all of it. Fans would love to see her with someone who makes her life lighter instead of heavier.

Even her aunt and her brothers would probably sign off on a man who brings less baggage to Sunday dinner. Shanice Johnson has earned a love story that doesn’t feel like a second job, and she still has time to find it.
