DAYS OF OUR LIVES SHOCKER: EJ’S HYPNOSIS BOMBSHELL CLEARS JOHNNY BUT OPENS PANDORA’S BOX OF FEMALE SUSPECTS

The DiMera Shooting Mystery Takes a STUNNING Turn

Hold onto your seats, Salem fans, because the “Who Shot EJ DiMera?” mystery just went from a straightforward father-son tragedy to an all-out WHODUNIT that’s got every woman in Salem looking suspicious!

Just when we thought Johnny DiMera was headed for a one-way ticket to Statesville for shooting his father (and let’s be real, after finding out he was conceived through rape, who could blame him?), Dr. Marlena Evans worked her hypnosis magic and uncovered a game-changing detail. The shooter? A WOMAN.

Boom. Just like that, everything we thought we knew is out the window.

Johnny’s Freedom Comes at a Devastating Price

Here’s where things get messy—and I mean DiMera-level messy. Johnny might be off the hook for attempted patricide, but this revelation has blown the case WIDE open. After that explosive confrontation where Johnny pointed Roman Brady‘s gun at his father (witnessed by little Rachel Black, no less), everyone assumed the traumatized son pulled the trigger. He even admitted to pointing the weapon! But apparently, our boy couldn’t go through with it. EJ took the gun, Johnny fled… and then what?

That’s the million-dollar question.

Under Marlena‘s careful hypnosis—and can we talk about the irony of Belle Black suggesting her mother help the man who’s currently in her bed?—EJ‘s fractured memories finally came together. One crucial detail emerged from the fog: whoever shot him was definitely female.

The Suspect List That’s Tearing Salem Apart

Now THIS is where it gets juicy. The list of women with motives to put a bullet in EJ DiMera reads like a who’s who of Salem’s most dangerous ladies.

Let’s start with the elephant in the room—or should I say, the leaked photo that’s got everyone talking? That behind-the-scenes shot of Kristen DiMera in a Statesville prison uniform? Not subtle, writers. Not subtle at all. Multiple spoiler sources are screaming that Kristen‘s about to confess to shooting her brother. But here’s the kicker—she’s supposedly protecting someone else.

And that someone? Could be her daughter, Rachel Black.

Stay with me here, because this theory is WILD but makes total sense. Rachel was there. She saw the whole confrontation between Johnny and EJ. She’s been having mysterious stomach aches and nightmares about gunshots (which she adorably told EJ gave him “a little PTSD”—out of the mouths of babes, right?). The prevailing theory? After Johnny dropped the gun and ran, little Rachel picked it up and—accidentally or on purpose—pulled the trigger.

The recasting of the actress playing Rachel right before this storyline? That’s not a coincidence, folks. That’s planning.

A Mother’s Ultimate Sacrifice?

If Rachel really is the shooter (and I’m becoming more convinced by the minute), then Kristen confessing makes perfect sense. This is the woman who’s proven time and again she’ll do ANYTHING for her daughter. Taking the fall for attempted murder? That’s just Tuesday in Kristen DiMera‘s world.

Think about it—EJ gets his “justice” by watching his sister go to prison (karma for her recent attempts to destroy him), while secretly knowing she’s covering for the real culprit. It’s twisted, it’s dark, and it’s absolutely brilliant soap opera storytelling.

But Wait—There’s More!

Don’t count out the other suspects just yet!

Dr. Marlena Evans herself is acting… off. After losing John Black, she’s been exploding with rage at EJ in ways that are completely out of character. He tried to kill John, lied about her grandson Jude, and now he’s sleeping with her daughter Belle. Could grief have finally pushed Salem’s most stable matriarch over the edge? Some fans are even theorizing she could be under the control of a resurrected Andre DiMera—which would be a direct callback to the Salem Stalker storyline. (Writers, if you’re reading this, we see what you’re doing!)

Then there’s Sami Brady. Fresh back in Salem, recently learning about the rape that conceived Johnny? The motive is there. The rage is definitely there. But with Alison Sweeney only doing a limited run, would they really make her the shooter?

Gabi Hernandez was literally outside the mansion that night contemplating shooting EJ herself. Ava Vitali had a gun and conveniently left town. Kate Roberts believes EJ was behind Rex‘s hit-and-run. Even Sophia Choi has a motive thanks to EJ‘s toxic interference in her adoption plans!

The Fallout That Will Destroy Families

Here’s what’s keeping me up at night—this isn’t just about who shot EJ. This is about the domino effect that’s about to demolish every major family in Salem.

If Rachel pulled that trigger and Kristen takes the fall, Brady Black is going to lose his mind. His daughter traumatized, her mother in prison, and him caught in the middle? That’s a recipe for disaster.

Marlena might be forced to use her psychiatric skills to implant memory blocks (hello, ethical violations!), Belle‘s relationship with EJ is already imploding, and Johnny? He’s free but forever changed by witnessing his father’s manipulative courtroom tactics.

The DiMeras are destabilized. The Brady-Black-Evans clan is fractured. And somewhere in Salem, a secret this explosive is just waiting to detonate.

So Who REALLY Shot EJ DiMera?

My money’s on the Rachel/Kristen theory. The evidence is overwhelming—the recasting, the symptoms, the prison photo, the character dynamics. It all points to Salem’s youngest criminal and her mother’s ultimate sacrifice.

But this is Days of Our Lives. Just when we think we’ve got it figured out, they pull the rug out from under us. Could Marlena have snapped? Did Sami finally get her revenge? Or is there a twist coming that none of us see?

One thing’s for certain—this mystery is far from over. And when the truth finally comes out (because it always does in Salem), the fallout is going to be EPIC.

What do you think? Are we watching Kristen prepare to sacrifice everything for Rachel? Or is there another female shooter we haven’t considered? Because at this point, I wouldn’t put anything past these writers!

The trial continues, the secrets multiply, and Salem will never be the same. Buckle up, soap fans—we’re in for one hell of a ride!
