Tessa Porter Tells Daniel She’s Done Living in Pain
Well, Young and the Restless fans, this is the New Year’s Eve episode that’s going to have EVERYONE talking! Tessa Porter and Daniel Romalotti are at Crimson Lights practicing guitar together when Daniel calls for a break. He knows something is seriously wrong and reminds Tessa that he’s there to listen.
Tessa Porter finally breaks down and admits she’s lost Mariah, and now she feels completely lost too. She reveals that Mariah has LEFT the clinic! According to their family tracking app, Mariah checked herself out of the Boston facility and is now headed SOUTH, moving even further away from her family. Tessa left a voicemail, but Mariah only responded with a cold text confirming she’d left. The message playing on repeat in Tessa’s head? Mariah is never coming home.
Daniel agrees this is incredibly difficult because Mariah is still out there somewhere, and Tessa has absolutely no idea what’s going on in her head. That’s when Tessa Porter says something that changes EVERYTHING. She’s sick of hurting and doesn’t want to live like this anymore. Daniel tells her he’s there for whatever she needs. Tessa says she needs to feel love, and Young and the Restless fans, THEY KISS!

Tessa Porter and Daniel Romalotti Take Things to the Bedroom
Oh, it gets even MORE intense! Tessa Porter and Daniel make their way back to his penthouse and head straight for the bedroom. She tells him she has no regrets about this, and Daniel doesn’t either. Tessa says this is the safest she’s felt in a really long time, and then they fall into bed together as the New Year countdown begins across Genoa City!
Look, we’ve watched these two grow closer as friends ever since Mariah shut Tessa out and refused to see her. Daniel has been her shoulder to cry on through her impending divorce, and now that shoulder has turned into something a LOT more! But here’s the thing: Mariah is still out there somewhere, and you KNOW she’s eventually coming back to Genoa City. When she does, finding out that her estranged wife slept with Daniel Romalotti is going to be absolutely DEVASTATING!
Lily Winters Confronts Cane About That Phyllis Kiss
Meanwhile, on Cane’s train, Lily Winters shows up and makes it clear she is NOT staying. She’s there to set the record straight about the launch party so there are no misunderstandings heading into the new year. Cane thought they were making progress, but Lily drops a BOMB: she saw him kissing Phyllis!
Lily accuses Cane and Phyllis of being the same person, both fueled by power and money, and tells him he should just be with her! But Cane insists that’s not what happened. He says if Lily saw a kiss, it happened on HIS train, and HE put an end to it immediately. He accuses Phyllis of always having an agenda and wanting him isolated so he’ll team up with her again. Cane swears Phyllis kissed HIM!
They reminisce about the New Year’s Eve years ago when they decided to give their relationship a real shot. Cane accuses Lily of wanting him just as much as he wants her and tells her to admit it. And as the ball drops at midnight? Lily and Cane are kissing! These two just cannot stay away from each other!
Adam and Sally Get Cozy While Their Partners Are Away
Over at Society, Adam Newman and Sally Spectra have an accidental run-in when their takeout orders get mixed up. Sally wants to know if Adam has thought about what she said regarding the Newmans and Abbotts living in peace. Adam gets defensive, assuming she’s going to remind him that he can’t think for himself, but Sally says he absolutely CAN think for himself and knows the difference between right and wrong.
Here’s where it gets interesting: Chelsea has the flu, and Billy is stuck in Chicago. So these two exes decide to have a drink together and try not to fight. They reflect on last New Year’s, Adam shares his burger with Sally to offset her sad kale salad, and as midnight approaches, they toast to the new year together. Adam wants to be the best partner and father he can be, and they both hope to call each other friends again. But friends don’t look at each other the way these two do!
