CARTER WALTON HAS OFFICIATED EVERY WEDDING IN LOS ANGELES BUT HAS NEVER ACTUALLY GOTTEN MARRIED HIMSELF AND HONESTLY WE DO NOT TRUST THIS CEREMONY

TL;DR: Carter Walton is finally walking down the aisle as the groom on The Bold and the Beautiful and after years of watching him officiate everyone else’s happily ever afters while his own fall apart at the last second, we are not relaxing until we hear “I now pronounce you husband and wife” โ€” and even then we are skeptical.

Carter Walton Has Been Here Before

Carter Walton is about to marry Daphne Rose on The Bold and the Beautiful. The invitations are out. The bachelorette party happened. Steffy told Daphne she is going to make the most beautiful bride. Carter smiled from ear to ear when he saw her.

And we are terrified.

Because Carter Walton has been the groom before. Multiple times. He has never actually made it through a ceremony. This man has officiated more weddings than we can count but has never gotten to say “I do” and have it stick. Something ALWAYS goes wrong.

So forgive us if we are not popping champagne just yet.

The Quinn Fuller Interruption We Cannot Stop Thinking About

Let us start with the obvious. Quinn Fuller. The woman Carter risked EVERYTHING for. The affair that almost destroyed his career, his reputation, and his friendship with Eric Forrester.

Quinn is not currently on canvas. But soap weddings have a way of summoning exes from the dead, the presumed dead, and extended vacations in Europe. If those church doors swing open in the middle of Carter’s vows and Quinn Fuller walks in wearing revenge red, nobody in that audience would be surprised.

“Speak now or forever hold your peace” is basically an invitation on a soap opera. And Quinn Fuller has never held her peace about anything in her life.

Daphne Rose Gets Cold Feet and RUNS

Here is another possibility. Daphne is standing at that altar looking radiant. Carter is smiling. The officiant is doing their thing. And then Daphne looks at Carter, looks at the doors, and bolts.

Maybe she realizes she is not over someone else. Maybe she has a secret she cannot bring into this marriage. Maybe she looks at Carter’s face and sees a man who is in love with the IDEA of finally being a husband more than he is in love with HER.

Daphne Rose running out of that church in her wedding dress would be devastating. It would also be very soap opera. And honestly? It would be the twist no one sees coming because everyone is so focused on what could go wrong with CARTER.

Carter Realizes He Does Not Love Daphne Rose

But what if the twist is not external? What if nobody interrupts? What if Daphne does not run?

What if Carter is standing at that altar, looking at Daphne, and suddenly realizes… he does not love her?

Picture it. The vows are happening. Daphne says her piece. Carter opens his mouth to say his. And nothing comes out. Because in that moment, looking at this woman who is ready to commit her life to him, Carter Walton realizes he has been chasing the wedding instead of the marriage. He wanted to finally be the groom so badly that he convinced himself this was love.

Carter stopping his own wedding mid-ceremony to tell Daphne he cannot do this would be BRUTAL. It would also be honest. And it would set up a redemption arc that could take Carter somewhere genuinely interesting.

A Secret Comes Out at the Worst Possible Moment

Soap weddings are magnets for secrets. Someone always knows something. Someone always decides that the altar is the perfect place to share it.

What if someone stands up and reveals that Daphne is not who she says she is? What if Daphne has a husband already? What if there is a secret child? What if Daphne came to Los Angeles with an agenda that had nothing to do with love and everything to do with Forrester Creations?

We do not know Daphne Rose that well yet. She showed up, she sang, she charmed everyone. But what do we actually KNOW about her? Because soap operas do not bring in mysterious French imports without a reason.

The Wedding Actually Happens and THEN Falls Apart

Here is the soapiest option of all. The wedding happens. Carter and Daphne say their vows. They kiss. Everyone cheers. They are legally married.

And THEN it all falls apart.

A secret surfaces on the honeymoon. Someone from Daphne’s past shows up the day after the wedding. Carter catches feelings for someone else immediately. The marriage lasts a week before everything explodes.

Carter Walton finally becoming a husband only to have the shortest marriage in B&B history would be cruel. It would also be hilarious. And it would keep his streak of altar disasters technically intact.

We Want Carter to Win โ€” But We Have Been Hurt Before

Here is the thing. We WANT Carter to be happy. We have watched this man stand at the front of every church in Los Angeles helping everyone else find their happily ever after while his own love life crumbles. He deserves a win.

But The Bold and the Beautiful has trained us. We know better than to trust a soap wedding. Especially a soap wedding for a man who has never successfully completed one.

So yes, Carter. We are rooting for you. We are also holding our breath. Because until that officiant says the final words and you walk out of that church as a married man, anything can happen.

And on a soap opera? It usually does.
