SALEM IS RUNNING OUT OF PEOPLE WHO ARE TELLING THE TRUTH AND THE WEEK OF JUNE 15 IS NOT HELPING

TL;DR: The spoilers for the week of June 15 on Days of Our Lives brings a Juneteenth celebration that gets complicated fast, a chessboard mystery that may crack open Stefano’s legacy, a warning from Kristen that Johnny cannot ignore, and a wedding day that arrives with more unresolved feelings than anyone is prepared for. Salem has never been good at simple weeks and this is not going to be one.

This Week in Salem

The week of June 15 on Days of Our Lives is the kind of week Salem specializes in: everyone is trying to hold something together while something else quietly falls apart. EJ DiMera is sitting on a Versavix secret that is becoming harder to contain. Cat Greene is lying to his face while the ISA operation closes in. Paulina Price has been told no once and is not done fighting for Chanel. And Friday’s Juneteenth celebration promises an emotional landmine that only Salem can produce: Paulina, Abe, and Lexie in the same place.

The chess game. The wedding emotions. The getaway that does not stay peaceful. Every thread that has been building over the past several weeks pulls tighter this week, and Salem does not tend to let threads that tight stay unbroken.

Monday, June 15

Julie Williams and Marlena Evans reflect on life together, and given what both women are currently carrying, that conversation lands with weight. Marlena knows about Lexie. She knows about Cat. She is keeping things told in confidence, and sitting down with Julie, who has her own long history with the DiMera family, tests that confidentiality in ways that may not stay comfortable.

Meanwhile, EJ DiMera moves toward Cat Greene romantically, which means he is either genuinely drawn to her or manufacturing closeness to control her. Given EJ’s track record, both can be true at once. Belle Black and Chad DiMera put their heads together on a mystery, setting up what becomes the Stefano chessboard thread by week’s end.

Tuesday, June 16

Stephanie Johnson is struggling with the fallout from shooting at Joy Wesley, and the weight of that is compounded by the fact that the loaded gun she kept accessible was always the risk Kayla and Steve warned her about. She was right that she needed protection. She was wrong about how to manage it. That gap is what makes this storyline genuinely hard.

Joy Wesley draws a line with Alex Kiriakis, which probbly means she’s sticking to her own guns – pardon the pun – by saying Stephanie may not be around ber daughter. Ever. She has a position and she is stating it. Otherwise, she’s pressing charges. And, Alex heads to Kayla for guidance, which is the most complicated conversation he has had in a while.

Wednesday, June 17

EJ and Chad making each other jealous is a dynamic with deep roots in DiMera family history and it never ends quietly. More interesting thread is Xander Kiriakis confessing something to Johnny DiMera. Xander has been sleeping with Kristen. If he is telling Johnny what he knows, the question is whether Johnny goes straight to his father or sits on it. Kristen warns Johnny on Thursday.

Xander confesses on Wednesday. The timeline suggests Johnny is in possession of information that could blow up the DiMera family before EJ has any idea it is coming.

Thursday, June 18

Holly and Tate find their romantic getaway interrupted, which is Salem’s way of reminding everyone that these two are still navigating their own story. Kristen’s warning to Johnny lands here, and the fact that she is warning him rather than keeping him in the dark suggests she is either protecting him or positioning him. With Kristen, those are sometimes simultaneous.

EJ receives good news about Lexie from Dr. Rolf. But don’t get too excited. Good news from Rolf in Salem is always the setup for something worse. Abe and Paulina sit with the emotions of their wedding anniversary as the Juneteenth celebration approaches and the full weight of Lexie’s return hangs over everything Paulina thought she had settled.

Friday, June 19

The week lands on the Juneteenth celebration and the collision that has been building since Lexie Carver came back from the dead. Paulina Price runs into Abe and Lexie at an event that should be about joy and community and history. Three people who share a history that was never fully resolved are standing in the same room on a day that demands graciousness. Paulina has been gracious. Paulina has limits.

Meanwhile, Chad and Theo crack the mystery of Stefano’s chessboard, and given what that board has historically represented in the DiMera mythology, whatever they find there is unlikely to be a footnote.
