Diane Jenkins has been through it. She faked her death. She came back from the dead. She survived Genoa City’s judgment, clawed her way back into Jack Abbott’s life, and has been trying to hold the Abbott family together ever since. The woman has earned a spa day. What she has instead is Dr. Laurence Markham’s guest room, which is apparently not all that different.

Dr. Laurence Markham, Patty Williams‘ accomplice, supposedly scraped Diane off the side of the road, claiming she was having a nervous breakdown, and has been holding her ever since. Diane cannot get out. What she can do is shower, change into fresh clothes, and use a full toiletry kit the good doctor thoughtfully provided for his involuntary houseguest.

Genoa City has handed us many kidnappings over the decades, even more in the last year. Locked cabins, underground bunkers, abandoned warehouses, at least one pod situation nobody has fully recovered from. None came with complimentary toiletries. Fans are openly asking whether Dr. Laurence Markham is a kidnapper or a very aggressive bed-and-breakfast operator, and honestly, the line is blurring.

Kyle is investigating from the GCAC. Traci is the only functioning adult in the entire situation. Patty Williams is presumably redecorating.

Has Anyone Seen Harrison

Here is the detail sitting underneath all this Abbott chaos that nobody is naming. Kyle has a son. Harrison Locke has not been seen in months. Kyle has not mentioned him once during this entire Diane crisis. Traci, apparently the last person in this family paying attention to anything beyond the immediate emergency, name-checked Harrison exactly one time. One.

Genoa City has a long, storied history of children who vanish the moment the plot stops needing them. Harrison has been enrolled in that program long enough to have earned a diploma. Here is what Genoa City needs to reckon with eventually. This is a man with a medical degree who is using it to provide involuntary hospitality on behalf of Patty Williams. He picked Diane up on the side of the road. He told her she was having a nervous breakdown. He brought her home, locked the door, then handed her a shower and a toiletry kit, because apparently even his crimes come with amenities.
