The Newman Heiress at the Center of Genoa City

Victoria Newman is the eldest daughter of Victor Newman and Nikki Newman, and for more than four decades she has stood at the center of The Young and the Restless. She has run her father’s empire, married six different men, and mourned a daughter she believed had died at birth.

Played by Amelia Heinle since 2005, she remains one of Genoa City’s most powerful and most wounded women. As of July 2026 she runs Newman Enterprises alone, installed by her father while grieving her late love Cole Howard and supporting her mother through a health crisis.

Who Plays Victoria Newman on The Young and the Restless?

Amelia Heinle has played Victoria Newman since March 21, 2005, and she remains a core cast member in 2026. She is a two time Daytime Emmy winner for the role, taking Outstanding Supporting Actress in 2014 and again in 2015.

Heinle was not the first to play her. Heather Tom originated the adult version from 1990 to 2003 and won two Younger Actress Emmys for the part, in 1993 and 1999. Child actress Ashley Nicole Millan played the role from the 1982 debut through 1990, and Sarah Aldrich filled in briefly during 1997.

The Child Star Years, 1982 to 1990

Victoria Newman was born onscreen in 1982 to Newman patriarch Victor and his on and off great love Nikki. Rapidly aged to a teenager by 1990, she returned from a Swiss boarding school as the self styled teenager from hell and cut her teeth in the Newman Enterprises mailroom. Even then the pattern was set: adore her father, defy her father, repeat.

Ryan, Cole and a Lost Baby, 1990 to 2003

The Heather Tom years gave Victoria her first great loves and her first great losses. At nineteen she eloped with older Newman employee Ryan McNeil, marrying in 1992 and divorcing by 1993. She then wed Cole Howard in 1994, a union so tangled the pair briefly feared they were half siblings before splitting in 1998.

That same year brought the tragedy that shaped Victoria Newman for decades. In 1998 she gave birth to a daughter, Eve Nicole, who was believed to have died only days later. She reunited with Ryan years on, until his unstable ex wife shot him dead on their 2001 wedding day.

Brad, Motherhood and the Heinle Era Begins, 2005 to 2010

When Amelia Heinle took over in 2005, Victoria Newman entered a new chapter. She married Brad Carlton in 2006 and divorced him within a year over his betrayals.

Then came security expert J.T. Hellstrom, father of her son Reed. Victoria married him in 2008, but the union collapsed by 2010 after he won custody of Reed and left the country.

The Billy Abbott Marriages, 2010 to 2017

No relationship defined Victoria Newman’s middle years like her on again unions with Billy Abbott. The two wed, divorced and remarried across 2010 to 2014, weathering the death of Billy’s daughter Delia and building a family of their own. Victoria adopted Johnny, who is biologically Billy’s son, and gave birth to their daughter Katie in 2014. Through it all she ran the cosmetics firm Brash and Sassy, reclaiming it in 2017 as proof she was a mogul in her own right.

The J.T. Cover Up and Ashland Locke, 2017 to 2022

The darkest chapter of Victoria Newman’s story began in 2017, when a returning J.T. turned abusive. Their reunion curdled fast, and the woman who once ran from her father found herself trapped again.

In 2018, after he attacked Victor, Nikki struck the abuser with a fireplace poker and believed she had killed him. Victoria helped her mother, Sharon and Phyllis bury the body, and the women were later arrested and put on trial for the crime.

The truth saved them. In 2019, J.T. turned up alive, his violent behavior traced to a brain tumor, and the women were cleared of the killing they never committed.

Barely recovered, Victoria married media mogul Ashland Locke in a lavish 2021 Tuscan ceremony, only to learn his cancer and even his identity were lies. Ashland died in 2022 after a confrontation with her brother Nicholas Newman, and the Newmans staged a cover up to hide how it happened.

Claire, Cole and Devastating Loss, 2023 to 2025

In 2023, Victoria Newman got the miracle few soap characters ever do. Her assistant Claire Newman, raised by kidnapper Jordan Howard as Claire Grace, was revealed through DNA to be the daughter she thought died in 1998, her and Cole’s long lost Eve.

Cole returned to Genoa City and rekindled his romance with Victoria, giving Claire the family she never had. Their happiness was brief. Jordan died in early 2025, and Cole followed months later, lost to Legionnaires’ disease in July 2025.

How Many Times Has Victoria Newman Been Married?

Victoria Newman has married six different men, though the ceremony count runs higher because two of those unions came around twice. Her husbands were Ryan McNeil, Cole Howard, Brad Carlton, J.T. Hellstrom, Billy Abbott and Ashland Locke. As of 2026 she wears no ring, single for the first time in years after Cole’s death.

That may be changing. Victoria has been drawn back to Nate Hastings, the man she dated in 2022 before her father blew the romance apart. The show is teasing a slow burn reunion, though as of July 2026 the two are reconnecting friends rather than a confirmed couple, in line with ongoing Y&R scoop. Reading between the lines, do not be surprised if Victor finds a way to torch this second chance too.

The Newman Children and Bloodline

Victoria has four children across three fathers and one adoption. Reed and Katie are her biological children with J.T. Hellstrom and Billy respectively.

Johnny, biologically Billy’s son, she adopted and raised as her own, a truth Johnny learned in 2022. Claire, her daughter with Cole, completes a family that took twenty five years and a DNA test to make whole. Her parents remain Victor and Nikki, and her siblings include her full brother Nicholas and half siblings Adam and Abby.

The Crimes and Cover Ups

For all her boardroom polish, Victoria carries a rap sheet. She helped conceal a death and bury a body in the 2018 cover up and was arrested before being cleared. She survived a stalker kidnapping in 2001 and a poisoning by Jordan in 2023.

Not every wound made a police report. She endured domestic abuse, grieved a child stolen at birth, and watched her father orchestrate one cover up after another. That mix of privilege and pain is exactly why Victoria Newman reads as both untouchable and deeply human.

Where Victoria Stands in 2026

As of the July 16, 2026 episode, Victoria Newman runs Newman Enterprises alone, installed by Victor as he wages war to reclaim Newman Media. She operates the company at his pleasure, not as its owner, a distinction that keeps her tethered to her father’s ambitions.

Her personal life is heavier still. Her mother Nikki is blind and recovering from surgery, with Victoria as her main support. When Victoria drove Nikki to sit at a hospitalized Jack’s bedside, Victor treated it as a betrayal.

On July 16, 2026, Victoria and Claire gathered at the Tack House to mark one year since Cole’s death, honoring him with his favorite snacks. Grief, loyalty and a slow rekindling with Nate now pull her in three directions at once.

Is Claire Victoria Newman’s Daughter?

Yes. Claire is the biological daughter of Victoria and the late Cole Howard, born in 1998 and stolen at birth by Cole’s aunt, Jordan Howard, who raised her as Claire Grace. A DNA test confirmed the truth in December 2023, reuniting mother and daughter after twenty five years. Their bond, forged in shared grief over Cole, is now one of the show’s steadiest emotional anchors.
