Anna Devane can’t get through a routine hospital visit anymore without Peter August showing up uninvited. This time he was dressed as the lab tech drawing her blood, and instead of small talk, he scolded her for not digging harder into Britt Westbourne while she had the chance.

Anna didn’t argue. She listened, and worse, she followed through, which should worry anyone who’s been paying attention to how often this pattern repeats.

When Felicia Scorpio stopped by moments later, Anna Devane started asking pointed questions about Britt’s state of mind, right on cue. Felicia had no idea she was answering questions planted by a man who’s been gone for years, but Anna walked away from that conversation with exactly what Peter wanted her to have.

Later, at home, Peter pushed further. He told Anna to go back to Britt and offer her help, the kind of help that would leave Britt feeling indebted. Not comfort, not closure, but leverage, and Anna took the bait without blinking.

Revenge Dressed Up as Recovery

Anna Devane genuinely believes she’s protecting her family from whatever Britt and Cassius Faison represent. That belief isn’t fake. What’s questionable is who’s shaping the plan underneath it, because every suggestion Peter has whispered in her ear has pointed her toward controlling Britt, not toward healing from what happened to her in that cell.

Anna already fought Peter off once when he pushed her toward something darker than manipulation, and she won that round outright. But he hasn’t stopped showing up since that fight, and each visit asks a little more of her than the last one did.

The Voice Nobody Else Can Hear

Emma caught the tail end of one of these one-sided conversations recently and had no idea what she was actually witnessing. That’s the part that makes this dangerous: nobody in Port Charles is in a position to warn Anna Devane, because nobody else can see who’s really talking to her.

Anna covered for herself in the moment, telling Emma everything was fine. It wasn’t the first time she’s had to lie about what’s happening inside her own head, and it likely won’t be the last, not while Peter keeps finding new reasons to stick around.
