Sawandi Wilson posted a video documenting what he called “Day 0” as a father, opening with heartfelt thanks to the medical team who helped deliver his baby. “You guys are incredible,” he said of the staff at Cedars-Sinai Medical. “You saved my baby’s life, you saved my wife’s life, and you saved my life.”

He also opened up about how surreal the moment felt, admitting that playing a doctor on television did not prepare him for the real thing. “This is real life, and I’m ready to meet my baby,” Sawandi Wilson said, describing hearing alarms go off before being brought to his wife.
He recalled his wife staying remarkably calm through it all, even asking him to distract her. “First thing she tells me is, ‘Tell me a story,'” he said. Put on the spot, he scrambled for something, joking that he landed on the premise of Spider-Man rather than think about what was happening around them.
Before he could get far into his story, the baby arrived, and everything about their lives changed in an instant. Sawandi Wilson called fatherhood “the biggest role of my life,” and judging by the outpouring of love in his comments, GH fans could not agree more.
The video, which Wilson warned fans in his caption gets a bit graphic, offers a raw and honest look at how different playing a doctor is from actually being in the room during a real delivery.
