Drew apologized and asked for a real, active role in the company, but Michael shut him down immediately, clearly not ready to hand his former enemy anything close to trust. It was Jordan Ashford who changed the tone of the conversation, arguing that Drew deserved a second chance. Drew Cain isn’t a neutral party in Michael’s ongoing war with Willow either. He has his own scars from that relationship, including the fact that Willow shot him. Willow already knows Michael is willing to use leverage against her, and now he has a partner in that office who has every reason to want her exposed every bit as badly as he does. That kind of shared motive rarely stays quiet for long on General Hospital, especially once the two men realize how much easier the job gets when they stop working around each other.

The most dangerous version of this story isn’t Drew scheming behind Michael’s back. It’s Michael and Drew realizing they don’t need to scheme against each other at all, because they’re both aiming at the exact same target. Willow built her current safety on Michael needing something from her. That safety net gets a lot thinner the moment Drew starts handing him reasons not to need it anymore, and it could vanish entirely if the two men decide to compare notes over a cup of coffee.
