Days of Our Lives Comings and Goings Bring Sami’s Daughter Back to Salem
Sami and EJ’s only daughter is coming home. Sydney Malakeh has been cast as Sydney DiMera, daughter of Sami(Alison Sweeney) and EJ (Dan Feuerriegel), according to a Deadline report. Sydney was last seen as a pre-teen in Peacock’s 2021 special “Days of Our Lives: A Very Salem Christmas,” so this is the character returning to the canvas, with Malakeh stepping into the role for the first time. Malakeh’s credits include Grey’s Anatomy, Shrinking, Loot, and The Sex Lives of College Girls. She makes her Salem debut Wednesday, September 9.

A New Arrival With a Very Familiar Last Name
Salem is also getting a new face with ties to Sami’s world. Franco LoPresti joins as Dante Vitali, arriving Monday, September 14 with connections to Sami already built into the role. LoPresti previously played Cliff Marleau on Heated Rivalry, and his other credits include Tracker and Chucky.
That last name is doing some heavy lifting. Vitali is the surname of the mob family behind one of DAYS’s most notorious figures, and the timing lines up with real-world casting news of its own: the actress most associated with that family recently exited Young and the Restless.
