  1. The passing of John Aniston has left a void in Days of Our Lives that will be hard to fill, and while Victor is still technically alive on the show, his eventual departure is bittersweet as there has never been anyone as ruthless and iron-fisted as him to take his place.
  2. Bo Brady’s return to the show has brought with it a surprising transformation. Bo’s intentions seemed pure at first, but as his plans to build an empire on Megan’s youth serum come to light, his motives seem to be all about money and power.
  3. Peter Reckell, who plays Bo Brady, revealed in an interview that Bo had been drugged and manipulated by Megan, but now he’s trying to become his own man again. He’s pushing away the Brady side of him and trying to figure out the Kiriakis side of himself, the Kiriakis genes, in hopes of discovering who he really is.
  4. Kayla, who is firmly rooted in the Brady family, is not supportive of Bo’s plan to become rich and powerful. Despite his threats and alleged killing of Kate, Bo is still a bit violent, but Kayla knows he’s not going to hurt her.
  5. Bo’s transformation is concerning, and it remains to be seen just how far he’s willing to go in his quest for power and money. With Victor’s eventual departure from the show, Bo may just be the man to take his father’s place as a ruthless corporate raider and crime lord, but it’s unclear if his Brady roots will prevail.

The soap world was rocked when John Aniston passed away, leaving a void in Days of Our Lives that will be hard to fill. Technically, Victor is still alive on the show until the filming schedule catches up to real life, but the knowledge that we’ll have to say goodbye to him soon enough is bittersweet. There’s never really been anyone as ruthless and iron-fisted as him to take his place.

Or has there?

Bo Brady is back and on the run with Kayla in Greece, talking about wiping the slate clean and starting over from the same place his father did. At first, it seems that Bo’s intentions are pure, but as Kayla realizes that he wants her to finish Megan’s youth serum so he can “build an empire on a flower,” everything clicks into place. Bo’s motives are all about money and power, which doesn’t seem very Bo-like, but is very much Victor-like!

Peter Reckell, who portrays Bo Brady, explained the character’s transformation in a recent interview with Soap Opera Digest. He revealed that Bo had been drugged and manipulated by Megan, but now that he’s away, he’s hoping to become his own man again. The problem is, the man he’s interested in becoming isn’t the same man he was before.

Bo is “pushing away the Brady side of him and trying to figure out the Kiriakis side of himself, the Kiriakis genes. It’s all about discovery. Greece is where Bo’s father grew up, and maybe he can be like his father,” said Reckell.

Kayla, who is firmly rooted in the Brady family, is not on-board with Bo’s plan to become rich and powerful, but he’s determined to make a name for himself and become like his father. Bo is like a bulldozer, pushing Kayla to help him accomplish his goals, and she’s like Bo’s Rolf, helping him carry out his plans.

Bo’s transformation is concerning, to say the least. He seems to have adopted Victor’s ruthless and cutthroat attitude towards power and money. He’s even willing to threaten his own sister and allegedly kill Kate, a move that is far from the Bo Brady we know and love.

However, Reckell insists that there’s still some Brady left in Bo. “Bo is a bit violent, but Kayla knows he’s not going to hurt her,” he said.

It remains to be seen how far Bo will go in his quest for power and money. Will he become a ruthless corporate raider and crime lord like Victor, or will his Brady roots prevail? With Victor’s impending departure from the show, Bo may just be the man to take his father’s place.
