GH’s Anna Devane Might Be Hiding A Fear That Has Nothing To Do With The WSB

GH’s Anna Devane might be hiding a fear that has nothing to do with the WSB, and everything to do with losing Valentin Cassadine.

ANNA DEVANE’S REAL FEAR COULD BE LOSING VALENTIN CASSADINE, NOT THE WSB

TL;DR: GH’s Anna Devane is about to open up to Jason about a fear that sounds like WSB paranoia, but what if it’s really about watching Valentin Cassadine go to war for another woman instead of her?

What If Anna Devane’s Fear Isn’t About The WSB At All?

Anna Devane sharing a fear with Jason Morgan sounds, on paper, like standard WSB paranoia, another chapter in a story about bureaus and cover-ups and agents who can’t be trusted. But what if the fear Anna Devane is actually carrying has nothing to do with the WSB at all? What if it’s about watching the one man who’s always dropped everything for her start dropping everything for someone else instead?

Here’s the theory worth sitting with: Valentin Cassadine has spent this entire storyline proving, over and over, that he’ll go to war for the women he loves. He offered to vanish with Anna when her past came for her. He’s stood over Nina Reeves telling her to fight instead of fold. Now he’s about to do it again, this time for Willow Tait, throwing himself into a fight against Drew Cain that has nothing to do with Anna at all. If Anna’s watched this pattern enough times to recognize it, she might already know exactly what it means when Valentin picks someone else to save.

What If Anna Isn’t Scared Of The WSB This Time?

Anna has survived worse than a rogue bureau. She’s outlasted assassination attempts, memory wipes, and half of Port Charles turning on her at some point or another. So what if the fear she brings to Jason isn’t about her own safety at all, but about a much quieter kind of loss, the fear of becoming someone Valentin used to show up for instead of someone he still does? That’s a harder thing to say out loud than “I’m worried about the WSB,” and Jason might be the only person Anna trusts enough to admit it to.

Jason Morgan Might Be The Wrong Person To Comfort Her

If this theory holds, there’s something almost cruel about Anna Devane choosing Jason for this conversation. Jason isn’t exactly known for reading between the lines when it comes to matters of the heart, and if Anna’s fear really is about losing her place with Valentin, she might walk away from this conversation feeling more alone than when she started it, not less.

Do you think Anna’s fear is really about Valentin? Tell us in the comments, we want every theory!

The Quietest Fear In Port Charles Might Be The Realest One

If Anna Devane is scared of losing Valentin to someone else’s crisis, that’s a storyline nobody’s watching for right now, buried under all the noise about Drew, Nina, and the WSB. Sometimes the biggest threat in Port Charles isn’t a criminal organization at all. Sometimes it’s just watching the person who’s always chosen you start choosing someone else.
