Here is what that call was about. Destiny was a free clinic patient back in June who collapsed in the square and could not be brought back. Her parents are filing a wrongful death suit against Salem University Hospital and against Sarah personally. That verb matters. Nothing published says the papers have been served.

The timing is what the town will argue about. Six days before that call, Sarah told Xander Cook Kiriakis she had filed an anonymous complaint with the FDA, alleging DiMera manufactured a contaminated batch of Coriseal and dumped the evidence on Smith Island. Sarah Horton is named alongside her employer, the hospital is named with her, and nobody on screen has tied the suit to the complaint she filed against DiMera. Circulating spoiler chatter is already calling it payback from EJ DiMera, and one write-up states it flat out, but that was written three days before the episode aired and the episode itself did not say it.

The Kiriakis mansion closed the night before Monday’s episode, and published recaps name the buyer as Dominic Marino, the exact man Brady Black and Steve Johnson spend Tuesday digging into for Black Patch. Reading between the lines, Maggie’s instinct that the money is dirty may be right for a reason she has no way of knowing yet.

Holly Jonas has spent three weeks being frozen out by a classmate she barely knows, and on Tuesday she stops waiting. Mason Whitfield went cold on her the moment she gave her name at Julie’s textbook table in Horton Town Square, and he later told Arianna Horton, out loud, that Holly is responsible for the death of someone he knew. He has never said who.

Transcriptions of the weekly preview reel have Holly asking him point blank whether he blames her for a death, and Mason answering that she played a big part in it. My gut says she does not walk out of that room the villain he has decided she is, because the young woman at the centre of it was no saint either and Salem has the receipts. Do not be surprised if Holly and Sarah Horton end this week in the same place, accused of something neither of them did.
