Willow Cain sat down with Ava Jerome to plan how to get Nina Reeves out of Steinmauer, and she laid out her read of the case: somebody slipped Jack Brennan‘s wallet into Nina’s car to frame her. She is right. Ava knows who did it, because Drew Cain admitted the plant to her, and she knows where Brennan is, because she helped put him there.

Ava did not blink. She warned Willow about the risks of helping Nina, then dropped the line that could haunt her: “If Nina is being framed, I may know by who.” Circulating recap chatter has her steering Willow toward Carly Spencer, the woman who saw Nina fight with Brennan and pointed Agent William Baines in her direction.

That is the clever part. Carly really did point Baines at Nina, and she admitted as much to Josslyn Jacks on September 17. Ava handed Willow a half truth, and half truths are the easiest lies to sell.

General Hospital Spoilers: Why Carly Is The Wrong Door

Here is the problem with sending a determined woman to Carly. Carly and Jason Morgan already traced the August 31 security hack at the Metro Court to a virus on Carly’s office computer, on the same night Brennan vanished. If Willow asks Carly what she knows about that night, Carly has a hacked hotel and a missing agent, and neither one points at Nina.

Then there is the drinking. Dante Falconeri saw Ava with Brennan at the Gardens before he disappeared. Ava was sharing drinks with the man who ended up in a grave on the Quartermaine preserve, and Willow already has Ric Lansing on retainer. A lawyer like Ric would want that timeline on a legal pad by the second meeting.

General Hospital Spoilers: The Loose Ends Ava Cannot Control

Willow is not the only thread. Isaiah Gannon pulled a tick off Ava on September 4, and a tick picked up in the woods is exactly the kind of detail that ends up in a medical chart. Charlotte Cassadine‘s initialed bracelet is sitting on Brennan’s body, and Outback has already been digging at the grave. None of those pieces are in Ava’s hands.

And Ava is not lying low. Thursday, after her custody fight with Sonny Corinthos, she met Drew at the Gardens to move their plan forward. Willow has Ric, WSB advice from Valentin Cassadine, and a direct line to Baines. The more she digs, the shorter the list of people who could have known about that wallet.

Will Willow Cain Find Out Ava Helped Bury Jack Brennan?

Not yet, and that is where Team Ava has a case. Willow trusts Ava right now, and Ava’s tip has real evidence behind it. Carly did hand Nina to Baines. Willow has no body, no witness, and no reason to suspect the woman helping her.

But Ava is performing for someone who has spent a summer being lied to. Willow caught Brennan on tape admitting he buried evidence, and she kept that recording. The day Carly tells her she only told Baines what she saw, the next question is who wanted Willow chasing Carly in the first place.

My gut says the show is loading this up on purpose. Every scene where Ava plays the helpful ally makes the eventual reveal hurt more. When Willow learns the woman who held her hand through Nina’s arrest also held a shovel on the Quartermaine preserve, nobody in Port Charles is going to be safe from her.
