NICK AND PHYLLIS FACE OFF THIS Y&R CANADIAN DAY-AHEAD

TL;DR: This Y&R Canadian Day-Ahead catches Phyllis Summers wheeling and dealing until Nick Newman barges into her business, Jack Abbott floats an offer that could ruffle the Mustache, Diane Jenkins and Nikki Newman sharpen their claws over lunch, and Phyllis makes a vow that should worry all of Genoa City. Nick Newman Walks In on Phyllis Summers’ Sales Pitch

This Y&R Canadian Day-Ahead opens with Nick Newman catching Phyllis Summers mid-hustle at the GCAC, leaning across a table at Cane Ashby with that look she gets when she wants something that belongs to somebody else. The second Nick appears, Cane makes a break for it without giving her an answer, and Nick stalks over to demand what that was all about.

Phyllis leaps up to insist she’s doing business, not hatching some “craven scheme.” (Her words. We would never.) For the record, the business in question involves paying Cane top dollar for his properties, which she insists would already be hers if he hadn’t transferred them before the AI attack. When Cane asked about her endgame, she gave him a speech about growth and claimed she wants the buildings for their historic value. Phyllis Summers, heritage preservationist. Sure.

Nick softens and tells her he wants her to feel fulfilled and is sorry she feels judged. Phyllis fires right back that Matt Clark made her feel validated and worthy of love, and they all drove him out of town. Nick confirms Matt is gone, then drops a surprise: Matt urged them to give her a second chance. Phyllis isn’t holding her breath, so Nick nudges her toward Arabesque. She informs him he should be thrilled she’s taking his advice, because she’s going to make Arabesque phenomenal. The plan? Classified. Nick presses, she won’t budge, and the two bicker over whether she can trust Cane, which is adorable, considering Cane is not the one in this equation anybody should be worried about.

Then Jack Abbott strolls up, Phyllis sweeps out, and the men immediately bond over how exhausting she is. Jack knows exactly how difficult she can be, but she was there for him when he needed her, and he’ll never forget it. Somewhere, Phyllis is sensing a compliment and doesn’t know why.

Jack Abbott Offers Nick Newman a Lifeline

Hours earlier, Jack rings Nick at Crimson Lights to check in on his journey back to his old life, and they set a lunch date. At home, Jack tells Diane Jenkins he plans to offer to be Nick’s sponsor. Diane worries it could stir up Jack’s own urge to use, but he explains that sponsoring someone actually helps keep you sober. Then Diane gets to the question that really keeps her up at night: how will Victor Newman react? Diane, fretting over Victor’s feelings. What a time to be alive.

Once Phyllis clears out of the GCAC, Jack and Nick swap addiction wisdom and talk about life outside rehab. Nick loves being back at work. Jack makes the offer, and they both know the Mustache won’t love it. Nick is set on handling his recovery his own way, but promises he’ll be coming to Jack for guidance. Diplomatic, and very Newman.

After Jack exits, Cane wanders back in, and Nick warns him to keep his distance from Phyllis. Cane wants nothing to do with her and reminds Nick that Phyllis is the predator here, not him. Fair point. Ask anyone who’s ever owned something she wanted.

Victor Newman Has a Surprise Up His Sleeve

At the ranch, Nikki Newman is halfway out the door when she catches Victor ending a call suspiciously fast. She assumes he’s up to something. He argues he could be up to something good and begs her not to ruin the surprise. A Victor Newman surprise. Nothing to worry about there.

Before she leaves for work, he shares the headline: Matt is out of town for good…with Patty Williams. He and Nick made it very clear they’d end him if he ever comes back. Nikki wonders how Phyllis is taking it, and Victor figures she’s plotting some act of destruction right this minute. He isn’t wrong. She’s across town trying to buy up half of Cane’s portfolio.

Diane Jenkins and Nikki Newman Take the Gloves Off at Society

Diane spots Nikki grabbing lunch at Society and can’t resist teasing her about Vibrante. Nikki brags that they’re already ahead of schedule. Diane jabs at Nikki for running to Jack for advice, and Nikki counters that Diane can sense her coming success and feels threatened. Diane insists Jabot is the gold standard and nobody has even heard of Vibrante.

Then things get personal. Nikki assumes Diane is jealous of her friendship with Jack, Diane accuses her of constantly trying to undermine them, and Diane figures Nikki doesn’t think she’s good enough for him. Nikki calls out how insecure she is and swears she’s always wished her well. Back on business, Nikki tells Diane she loves how much Diane underestimates her. Diane warns her to be prepared, because she’s more than capable of defending what’s hers. Nikki guesses she’s talking about more than a company. Valentine’s Day is months away, and this massacre is already ahead of schedule.

Phyllis Summers Stakes Her Claim at The Shadow Room

Christine Blair swings by The Shadow Room to pick up Danny Romalotti, but he’s running late, so Cricket chats with Daniel Romalotti. Daniel is worried his mother will do something desperate and reckless, and he fills her in on Phyllis contemplating a getaway with Matt. Cricket admits she’d do cartwheels if Phyllis left town, but she knows Daniel loves his mom. Daniel calls Phyllis “epically selfish,” unable to change or show a lick of self-awareness, and says that even if she skipped town, she’d be back. He loves her and misses her, but he can’t give her a pass. Cricket knows he’s given his mom thousands of chances, and she’s sure nothing matters more to Phyllis than her kids. Daniel steps away to sign for a delivery.

Cue the entrance. Phyllis walks in, unhappy to find “the Bug,” and mocks her for drinking alone in the middle of the day. Christine suggests Phyllis try talking to her son some time, explains she’s waiting for Danny, and brags about how happy they are. Phyllis is startled to learn Danny co-owns the club. When Daniel returns, Cricket gloats that he took a job from his dad after turning down so many from his mom. Danny texts her hearts and flowers, Cricket sexts right back, and she sashays out. Mic drop.

Phyllis declares the whole thing ridiculous and wonders why her son didn’t defend her. Daniel answers with a hug and tells her he’s glad she’s there. That’s all it takes. Phyllis announces she’s staying, reconnecting with the people who love her and proving this is where she belongs. Her mission statement? “I’m gonna make this city mine.” Genoa City, lock your doors.

Nikki Newman Gets a Crown, Diane Jenkins Gets a Grudge

Nikki races back to the ranch, and Victor finally unveils his surprise: a chain with a big V and a crown, for the Queen of Cosmetics. He says it reflects how talented he thinks she is, and she admits she’s more motivated than ever to succeed. She also fills him in on Diane ticking her off. The Mustache now has intel. What could go wrong?

Across town, Diane storms home and rails to Jack about Nikki waging war on them, and she’s ready to launch a full-scale attack. Jack would rather foster some peace, so Diane abruptly declares that the whole thing was silly and she’ll ignore Nikki’s noise. Jack thinks that’s wise. Diane Jenkins, ignoring Nikki Newman. And Victor’s taking up knitting.
