Carter Wants It Done Before Finn Gets Home
The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers for Wednesday, September 30 bring the surrogacy scheme back after a week off screen, and Carter Walton is done waiting. He tries to get through to Steffy Forrester Finnegan and push her to go ahead with the plan while her husband is out of town. Steffy pushes right back. Previews describe two desperate appeals in one room: his boils down to act fast, and hers boils down to confess fast.
That husband, John ‘Finn’ Finnegan, said no to the whole idea and left for a medical conference, the last scene this story aired, back on September 23. The network promo has Carter pleading, “We have to do this now, Steffy. We don’t have time!” No preview pins that line to a day, but it fits Wednesday like a glove. Steffy has been in this corner ever since Daphne’s baby news first trapped her, and the full week is laid out in this week’s Bold and the Beautiful spoilers.
Here is why Carter is sweating. Steffy’s home test came back positive on September 10, and she believes Carter is the father after their one night together in August. His cover story, sold to his wife, is that Steffy will be their egg donor and surrogate using her frozen eggs. Count the weeks from that August night and Steffy is roughly eight weeks along by a doctor’s count on Wednesday, while the procedure that is supposed to explain the baby hasn’t happened.

Daphne Takes Her Baby News to Ridge and Brooke
On Thursday, October 1, a glowing Daphne Rose Walton shares her baby news with Ridge Forrester and his wife, Brooke Logan. “The surrogate Carter and I have found is a remarkable woman,” she says in the promo. Ridge is Steffy’s father, and Finn asked him to keep an eye on her before he left town.
Previews split on whether Daphne says Steffy’s name in that scene. One reading of the promo has Ridge admiring his daughter’s generosity while worrying about her. Others say he doesn’t learn it is Steffy yet. We broke down what either version does to Steffy in our look at Steffy’s surrogacy panic.
Does Daphne Know Steffy Is Her Surrogate on Bold and the Beautiful?
Yes. Daphne knows exactly who her surrogate is, so ignore any preview claiming she never suspects it is Steffy. Carter announced “Steffy said she’d do it!” on September 18, and three days later he told Daphne that Steffy’s eggs were already frozen and it could happen in less than a year. Daphne has been buying baby clothes ever since.
What Daphne doesn’t know is the part that matters. Her remarkable surrogate is already pregnant, and by Steffy’s own count the father is Daphne’s husband. That is the secret Carter Walton is really protecting on Wednesday, and every person Daphne tells makes his job harder.
Zende Fumes at Forrester While Will Warns Dylan
The rest of Wednesday belongs to Zende Forrester Dominguez, who is frustrated at being sidelined at Forrester. He lost his shot at leading Hope’s line when she left for Logan, and now he answers to RJ. On Tuesday he texted Hope that he doesn’t want to talk, right after Dylan pressed him on Katie’s behalf, as our September 29 recap of Katie’s Zende push laid out.
On Thursday, Will Spencer cautions his girlfriend, Melissa “Miss” Dylan, about his mother’s demands. Katie just told Dylan to finish the job with Zende if she wants to keep living the high life with Will. Reading between the lines, Will is finally seeing how hard his mother squeezes. Then on Friday, Hope and Katie lay everything on the table.
Why Carter Walton Is Running Out of Road
Friday, October 2, is when Steffy raises her concerns about Carter’s plan, and previews hint she has plenty. The biggest one is simple math. Any pregnancy that starts with a procedure next week would date about six weeks behind the real one, and a doctor would see it on the first ultrasound. Circulating spoiler chatter says Carter goes looking for a doctor willing to lie while Finn is away.
My gut says Steffy’s conscience is the bigger threat. Spoilers say she wants to come clean with Finn, and she doesn’t sound like a woman who can sell a fake procedure to her father’s face. If I know these writers, Carter Walton wins Wednesday’s argument and loses the war.
