Bold and the Beautiful Recap September 29: Katie Orders Melissa Dylan to Finish the Zende Job

MELISSA DYLAN GETS ZENDE TO ANSWER HOPE, AND THE ANSWER IS NO

TL;DR: Melissa Dylan pushed Zende to answer Hope, and he told her he does not want to talk. Katie ordered Dylan back to finish the job, and Hope sent Brooke’s call to voicemail.

Zende Answered Hope, and the Answer Was No

The Bold and the Beautiful recap September 29 turns on one text message nobody at Logan wanted to read. Melissa “Miss” Dylan walked into Forrester on Katie Logan Spencer‘s orders and leaned on Zende Forrester Dominguez until he answered Hope Logan Spencer, and his reply was that he does not want to talk. Katie sent Dylan straight back with an order: “Make it happen. Finish the job, Melissa.”

So much for a first step. A day after Katie called Dylan a spy and then handed her a spy job, Melissa Dylan is now on the clock for Logan, and our B&B spoilers for the next two weeks say this tug of war is nowhere near done.

Katie laid out the plan early at Logan. Zende will not speak to Hope, and that is where Dylan comes in. Getting him to reach out would be a great first step in proving her loyalty to the Spencers, and to Katie. Once Dylan left, Katie bragged to Hope that when she wants something, she stops at nothing to get it.

Hope Worried About Throwing Gas on the Fire

Hope was not so sure. She wondered how her mother would react if Zende turned up at Logan and asked whether they really wanted to throw gas on the fire. Katie chuckled that her relationship with her sister could hardly get any worse. When Hope admitted she was hurt, Katie called it business and told her niece to text Zende again.

Dylan Went Straight to Zende’s Desk

Over at Forrester, Dylan found Zende stewing in the design office and cut to the chase: “I’m here to ask you to do something.” She guessed he never expected to be working with RJ Forrester and must be upset that Hope for the Future is gone. Then she told him to call Hope. Zende squinted. What did any of this have to do with her?

Dylan explained that she is Will Spencer‘s girlfriend now and had just come from Logan. Zende admitted he is still upset that Hope left him high and dry. Then another text popped up from Hope, who has been blowing up Zende’s phone for days, and with Dylan pushing, he finally replied. “Satisfied?” he asked her.

Why Does Katie Call Dylan Melissa on Bold and the Beautiful?

Because it is her name, and Katie knows exactly how it lands. Everyone else calls her Dylan or Miss Dylan. Katie reaches for Melissa when she wants to put the girl in her place, and she did it back in August too, the day she confronted her over Will with “My son is devastated.”

Here is the part nobody else is pointing out. Katie did not just ask for a favor this time. She tied it to Will: if Dylan wants to keep living the high life with her son, she finishes the job. That turns Melissa Dylan’s romance into a job with a quota, and Katie just wrote the terms.

Brooke Called, and Hope Let It Ring

At Forrester, Brooke Logan told Ridge Forrester that all of this traces back to Katie’s betrayal. She is not angry, just sad, and she misses her daughter and her granddaughter. “My sister is a stranger to me. I’ve no idea what she’ll do next.” Ridge grunted that whatever it is, it will be down and dirty, and told Brooke to reach out to Hope.

So she did. At Logan, Hope braced when she saw her mother calling, then sent it to voicemail. Brooke left a message anyway. She is still hurt, she loves her, and “I miss my daughter very much.”

Katie Logan Spencer Sent Dylan Back for Round Two

Hope told Katie that Zende had replied and wanted no part of a conversation. Katie fumed that Dylan had better come through. “We need Zende.” Back at Forrester, Zende sat alone with his latest sketch, deep in thought.

At the beach house, Melissa Dylan gave Katie the good news and the bad. Zende answered, but he is still upset. He does seem fed up with work and with having to collaborate with Ridge and RJ, though. Katie pounced. Zende would be happy at Logan, she said, where they would celebrate him and his talent.

My gut says Zende is closer to cracking than he lets on. A man who wants nothing to do with Logan does not stare at his sketchbook like that. Of Katie’s three dirty tricks against Forrester, this one is working. If I know these writers, Friday’s Hope and Katie showdown is where Melissa Dylan finds out what her loyalty is really worth.

Katie Turned Will’s Girlfriend Into Her Recruiter

Katie spent Monday calling Dylan a Forrester spy and Tuesday using her as one. Now she has tied Dylan’s place in Will’s life to whether she can deliver Zende, and that is a price no mother should put on her son’s girlfriend.
