Anna Gets News and Finds Freedom

This General Hospital Recap opens with Anna Devane receiving major life news the way Port Charles delivers all of it: from a friend, in a hallway. Felicia Scorpio tells her that Robert Scorpio and Holly Sutton are headed to town for a visit, after which Robert will wrap up his stint as D.A. and the two will settle in France for good. Anna is pleased her ex-husband is stepping back from his career, but she admits she’d always pictured him putting down roots close to home.

In Dr. Nichols‘s office, a therapist who has been in town for under a month and already has the most productive appointment book in Port Charles, Anna says the news knocked her sideways. France stirs up a tangle of feelings from the years she spent institutionalized there. The conversation turns, inevitably, to Faison, the one man who has always lived rent-free in her head. Anna admits she never found a way to wall him off until she nearly killed Britt Westbourne, and the horror of that moment taught her something: his hold lasted only because she’d been the one dragging him along. Crying with relief, Anna declares she finally believes she can be free of him. It’s a quiet, tender beat, and whatever lies ahead for Robert, it gives Anna steadier ground to stand on.

Lulu Sneaks Into Sidwell’s Room

Lulu Spencer shows up at GH hoping to snag an interview with Sidwell for The Invader, and Elizabeth Baldwin swiftly shuts her down. Undeterred, Lulu bumps into Felicia and asks after Maxie Jones in Australia. Felicia urges her to call Maxie directly, promising the call will be welcome whatever happened with Cassius. Lulu thanks her warmly and then promptly steals Felicia’s ID badge, because nothing says gratitude like credential theft.

Elizabeth, meanwhile, checks on a heavily medicated Sidwell, who wonders whether she’ll settle scores on behalf of Lucky Spencer. She says she loathes everything about him, but she’ll treat him the same as anyone else on the ward, and beyond sending him back to Pentonville in good health, he gets nothing extra. Disguised in scrubs, Lulu slips into his room and announces an interview. Sidwell grumbles that the police snared a heartbroken dad with a setup while guiltier people stroll free, naming Sonny Corinthos, Britt and Willow Tait. Lulu hits record and checks that he means the congresswoman. He does, so her scoop is suddenly a lot more interesting.

Chase Opens Up, Brook Lynn Vents

After their Metro Court encounter, Chase and Willow retreat to the gatehouse, a location that isn’t helping anyone’s case. Chase apologizes for dragging her into an awkward spot after his blowup with Brook Lynn Quartermaine, and Willow says there’s nothing to fret about, unless he’s rethinking whether they can hang out. Over wine, Chase talks about his marriage ending and the custody battle taking shape over Phoebe. Willow, drawing on her own breakups, urges him to try to repair things, but Chase has run out of willingness. He fears Brook Lynn may outmaneuver him, so he plans to arm himself accordingly. Willow says he’ll stay honorable but warns people may doubt his intentions, so Phoebe must remain his priority. She thanks him for believing in her through her own mess with Michael Corinthos, and Chase promises he always will.

Up at the mansion, Valentin Cassadine drops off something for Danny Morgan from Charlotte Cassadine and finds Brook Lynn venting about her family collapsing. She wonders if it’s karma for the time she made Valentin believe she was carrying his child. Valentin offers some candid analysis: the marriage never fit because she hid her true self, and she somehow fooled a master manipulator while performing the version of her Chase could love. If Chase had never left her feeling insecure, he adds, she wouldn’t have needed to lie, so the breakup can’t be all hers. Valentin delivering a lecture on authenticity is the most Valentin thing imaginable, but Brook Lynn agrees they share the blame. Chase will always have her love, she says, yet she’s terrified he’ll drift back to Willow, and she wishes someone would show him who Willow truly is.

Josslyn Weaponizes Her Day Job

Josslyn Jacks tells Hudson Parker she intends to use JJE as a wrecking ball against Sonny’s finances. Hudson tries to dissuade her, arguing she’d gamble the whole company on a personal grudge. Josslyn insists JJE’s regular business keeps rolling, then explains how breaking up Sonny’s operations would pay off for the company, off-screen, presumably with a very convincing slide deck. Hudson concedes it’s a clever route to spreading the company’s bets but cautions that a win today could tempt her to try a similar play for worse reasons later, with worse results. Josslyn reminds him she’s the CEO, so the calls are hers, and tells him to ping her when he’s ready.

Serena Needs a Tick Check

Jason Morgan comes to the rescue of Serena Baldwin after her bid to rescue the peregrine falcons’ nest, the one Tracy Quartermaine wants gone, leaves her stranded on the roof. He agrees to help her move the nest to a woodland sanctuary beside the grounds, a patch of woods with a history viewers know well: it’s where Drew Cain and Ava Jerome buried Jack Brennan. Back at the house, Serena proposes a mutual tick inspection and asks Jason to check her hair. A man who has survived mob wars and a presumed death at the pier is now facing his most dangerous situation yet: a very flirtatious tick check.

Which storyline has you more invested, Chase and Willow’s wine night or Josslyn’s plan to ruin Sonny? Sound off in the comments below.

Falcons, Faison, and Flirty Tick Checks

Anna got news about Robert and came away freer than she’s been in years, Lulu stole a badge and a scoop, and Chase and Willow shared wine while Brook Lynn shared her heartache with Valentin. Josslyn turned her job into a weapon, and Serena turned a nest rescue into a very suspicious invitation. Port Charles remains the only place where relocating falcons and relocating a marriage feel equally urgent.
