Jason Thompson Hints Y&R’s Gatsby Wedding Opens a Door Nobody Can Close
This Y&R spoiler has Jason Thompson teasing Billy and Sally’s Gatsby wedding, a baby, and twists that could echo for years to come.
JASON THOMPSON PROMISES BILLY AND SALLY’S WEDDING WILL RATTLE EVERYTHING
TL;DR: Per TV Guide, Jason Thompson is spilling that Billy Abbott and Sally Spectra’s Y&R wedding on Monday, October 19 brings Gatsby glitz, a baby, and fallout that could echo for years.

Gatsby, Glitter, and a Very Serious Bride
Cue the champagne towers, Genoa City. Sally Spectra is marrying Billy Abbott in a Great Gatsby-themed ceremony, and Courtney Hope did not treat it like a casual afternoon.
This is her first turn as a soap bride, so she got hands-on with the details, right down to the nail polish and the shade of lipstick. Her mission was making Sally’s history proud, and honey, that history is long. Between the gowns, the glam, and the glitter, nobody in Genoa City is expecting a quiet affair, and frankly, we wouldn’t want one.
Jason Thompson is promising that the big day carries real consequences, with twists that change the direction of the story.

Jason Thompson Teases a Wedding With Long Echoes
Here’s the part that made us sit up straight. According to Jason Thompson, the ripple effects are big enough to keep the show busy for a decade or two. Translation: this is not a one-and-done episode.
Billy and Sally are also welcoming their baby almost right away, so nobody gets to lounge around in wedding afterglow. Their first child arrives fast, and Thompson says there is zero time for a dull moment.
Then comes the bombshell. Something seriously heavy happens with Jill Abbott, Billy’s mother, and Thompson says it sends everything into total chaos. Remember, Billy didn’t want Jill at the wedding, Traci Abbott has said Jill isn’t well, and Jill only gets a seat if she behaves. We’re only saying the aisle looks awfully slippery.

A Guest List Built Like a Powder Keg
Even without Jill, the invitations read like a cliffhanger. Chelsea Lawson is now a bridesmaid, and Adam Newman is lined up as her plus-one, provided the groom signs off. Billy and Adam have already been snipping at each other, and Audra Charles is not exactly Team Chelsea.
Add security, because Sally is worried about Patty Williams, and you’ve got a seating chart that needs a bomb squad.
Fans can also expect Patrika Darbo as Shirley Spectra and Ashley Campbell as Coco Spectra to arrive in October for the festivities. A Spectra family reunion and a Gatsby party? That’s a recipe for glorious mayhem.
For his part, Jason Thompson says Billy isn’t sweating life after the vows. Maybe he should be.
The Parties Are Already Pouring Drinks
The pre-wedding festivities are heating up, too. Jack Abbott and Kyle Abbott have been planning a jazz-themed bachelor bash at the Abbott mansion, while Sally’s bachelorette at Society has Audra at the helm and Esther Valentineinvited to the fun. Billy and Sally have even picked their first song, and a nonalcoholic cocktail called The Ballyhoo is in the mix. Sweet, right? Please. Somebody always has a secret in their clutch. This is Genoa City, where a toast is only a warm-up.
