Angela Fairley Was Born to Play Vanessa’s Daughter

Deanna McBride is the rare new character who felt like she’d been in Fairmont Crest all along. Angela Fairley walks into a room with the same poise and the same steel as Vanessa McBride, and you never doubt for a second that these two women are related. That’s casting done right.

She’s also gorgeous, and she carries herself like a woman who knows it without needing anyone to tell her. Deanna doesn’t beg for approval. She doesn’t soften her opinions to keep the peace. She says what she thinks and lets everyone else deal with it. Angela Fairley plays every eye roll and every pointed question like she’s been waiting her whole career for this part.

That’s what makes her so much fun to watch. Fairmont Crest is packed with people keeping secrets and smiling through it. Deanna is the one person who refuses to play along.

She Saw Through Joey From Day One

Deanna came home and immediately blew up at her mother over Joey Armstrong. While everyone else was busy being impressed by his money and his manners, Deanna asked the obvious question: why is this man suddenly so generous?

Joey dedicated a building to her late father, Doug McBride, and spent a fortune doing it. Deanna didn’t see a tribute. She saw a man trying to buy his way into her family. And she has every reason to be suspicious. Doug owed Joey a huge gambling debt, and Joey was already involved with Vanessa before Doug died.

Is Deanna McBride the only person in town connecting those dots? It certainly looks that way, and her own mother still isn’t listening.

Deanna Plays the Long Game

Here’s where she earned real respect. Instead of screaming at Joey forever, Deanna changed tactics. She pretended to warm up to him and kept him close, hoping he’d slip up and show her who he really is. Deanna figured out what most of Fairmont Crest still hasn’t: you catch a man like Joey by letting him relax.

That’s not a spoiled college kid throwing a tantrum. That’s a strategist. The catch is that Joey seems to have figured out her change of heart isn’t real. A man who may have had a hand in her father’s death now knows she’s watching him. How much danger is Deanna really in?

What Deanna Deserves Next

With Vanessa reeling after a carjacking, the spoilers point to more friction between mother and daughter over Joey. Nicole Dupree Richardson hands Deanna a reality check, and Noah Rollins offers her a different perspective. Both conversations could change how she plays this.

What Deanna McBride deserves is a storyline of her own. She deserves to be the one who finally exposes Joey, and she deserves a love interest who can keep up with her. Could Noah be more than a sounding board? Fans would line up to watch.
