DREW CAIN CONFIRMING THE ARTICLE GIVES LULU HER NEXT STORY

TL;DR: GH’s Drew Cain handed Lulu Spencer a waiver, a sit-down and his doctors, and the Invader article that came out of it is only the opening act, because the more he confirms, the closer she gets to Jack Brennan.

The Waiver Was Not His Smartest Signature

Drew Cain thought he was getting a puff piece. Lulu Spencer bought him coffee at Bad Jen Café, gushed about his fierceness, asked how a man regains his speech and his legs overnight, and he soaked up every compliment before he signed a waiver letting her interview his doctors. What he got was an article claiming he never had a stroke at all, and that Willow Tait drugged him on Jenz Sidwell’s orders. He grumbled to a cackling Carly Spencer that this was not what the story was supposed to be about, then called it tabloid trash and stormed out. Carly, who declared it poetic justice, savored every second.

Drew’s next move is worse. Ava Jerome is urging him to confirm every word so they can bury Willow, and Drew is tempted, partly because he wants to use the article to help Nina Reeves. That is rich coming from the man who tucked a dead man’s wallet under her car seat.

Confirming the article also hands Lulu her sequel. She already has the waiver, the doctors and the files. She also has a hospital full of people who noticed something odd, because Drew’s case reminded them of another patient, and Lulu got a twinkle in her eye the moment they said the name.

Jack Brennan Is Not Resting Peacefully

Jack Brennan is the one name Drew and Ava cannot afford to see in a second article. The WSB is still hunting for him, and Drew and Ava buried him in the nature preserve beside the Quartermaine property, then promised each other nobody would go looking. Now a reporter is laying two medical mysteries side by side, and one of the patients is conveniently missing.

Drew Cain knows how fast a headline can get away from a man, and Ava is not helping, because her idea of damage control is more confirmation, more quotes and more pages for Lulu to quote back at him.

Every detail Drew confirms about his own recovery is a detail Lulu can set next to Jack’s. If Drew lies about how quickly he got better, Lulu asks how quickly Jack did. If he praises Willow’s care, Lulu asks who else was in that house. Drew is trying to win one fight while leaving a trail to a much bigger one.

Denying It Is Not A Safe Option Either

Britt Westbourne’s theory is that Drew will refuse to look like a clueless tool, and she may be right about his pride. But if he denies it, Lulu is still holding a signed waiver and a pile of doctors who were happy to talk. If he stays quiet, Willow claims the high ground, which is a bad deal for Drew Cain, because Willow is already panicking about her approval rating and has Chase promising he knows how to fight back.

Willow and Drew have wanted each other ruined for months. The article gave both of them a weapon, and the one who swings it carelessly is the one who ends up on the front page, with Lulu’s byline right under the photo.

Is Drew the victim, the villain or the guy who talked himself into trouble? Tell us in the comments below, we’re dying to hear it!

Careful What You Put In Writing

Drew Cain wants Willow buried and Nina rescued, and he thinks one confirmation does both. If Lulu keeps pulling the thread, the same confirmation could unravel him. Will he talk himself into a trap, or find a way to shut her up before she reaches the preserve?
