DEAL WITH THE DEVIL! GH’s Britt Westbourne Dangles a Way Out for Jenz Sidwell, and Nobody Knows Who She’s Really Saving
Britt Westbourne hid the truth from Chase and offered Jenz Sidwell an out before he recanted. Is she saving Willow Tait or herself?
BRITT WESTBOURNE MAY BE SAVING HERSELF, NOT SIDWELL
TL;DR: Britt Westbourne kept the truth from Chase, then handed Jenz Sidwell an “out” right before he recanted, and with her name in his drugged Oct. 6 rant, we have to ask whether she’s rescuing Willow Tait or cleaning up her own mess. Catch more GH spoilers here.

Britt Hid The Truth From The One Man Who Asked
Britt Westbourne knows every word of The Invader’s story about Drew Cain is true, and she made sure the one man itching to defend Willow Tait never found out. Chase decided the Quartermaines planted the piece and wanted Willow to sue Lulu Spencer and the paper for libel. Britt, who had already told Willow the drugging made medical sense because the stroke never did, refused to tip him off. She told Willow to issue a denial and leave it at that. Our guess: a lawsuit means lawyers, lawyers mean questions, and Britt wanted none of those anywhere near Chase.
Jenz Sidwell had already put her in the crosshairs. On Oct. 6, a heavily drugged Sidwell told Lulu the PCPD entrapped a grieving father while people far guiltier kept walking, and he named Sonny Corinthos, Britt, and Willow. Lulu pressed play on her recording app. Two days later, Britt barged into the gate house offering Willow help and announced that she knows what being blackmailed by Sidwell is like. The recaps never say what he held over her, which is exactly the kind of gap we love to drive a truck through.
Then Britt paid Sidwell a visit. Fresh off open-heart surgery, he was convinced he’d hallucinated his chat with Lulu, and Britt showed up fishing for what he’d said. He was stunned to learn there was an article. Britt worked out that the paralytic came from Ross Cullum, who took it from the WSB, and she offered Sidwell an “out.” Dante Falconeri then took his statement, and Sidwell insisted Lulu’s article was nothing but lies.

The Out Is The Part Nobody Has Seen
The recap never says what the “out” is, so everything from here on is pure speculation, the juicy kind. What we do know is that Sidwell hinted that “plans could change” the moment Isaiah Gannon mentioned him heading back to Pentonville. Then Britt arrived with an offer. Coincidence is a lovely word, and nobody in Port Charles has ever believed in it.

Britt May Be Pulling Willow Out Of A Trap
Britt Westbourne knows blackmail from the receiving end, and she walked into that gate house to help. She also has an idea about Drew, who she’s sure won’t want the world thinking he’s a clueless tool. If Willow is stuck in the kind of squeeze Britt says she knows, an “out” for Sidwell could be a graceful way to take everything back without admitting a thing, and that takes the heat off Willow, too.

Or Britt Is Burying Her Own Name
Britt Westbourne’s name is on Lulu’s recording, right beside Willow’s. If the tape keeps playing, Britt could be the next one answering questions. An “out” that ends with Sidwell calling it all lies also ends with nobody asking about the woman he named. Add that Britt connected the paralytic to Cullum and the WSB, while Anna Devane is already holding intel on a WSB cocktail that can cause locked-in syndrome, and time is short. Maybe the offer buys Sidwell’s silence. Maybe it also buys Britt time.

Is Door Number Three A Trapdoor?
Whoever the “out” really saves, somebody pays for it, and Sidwell has already proven his mouth is the one thing nobody fully controls. If Britt Westbourne is the one holding the door, she’d better be sure she’s standing on the right side of it.
