Daddy Newman Has Been Building A Case Since September

Anyone who thinks the Mustache missed this affair has never met him. Victor Newman runs a tower, an empire and a family tree with more thorns than branches, and Victoria Newman is bargain-bin naive if she believes he never noticed her walking around radiant on September 28 while skipping the motel that used to be her whole personality. Daddy notices glows. Daddy notices dreams, too, and the one Victoria had on October 2 was practically a confession set to music.

Then came October 12, when she panicked over her phone like a teenager hiding a mixtape. Secrets this loud are not secrets. They are invitations. Kyle Abbott can stage all the fake feuds he wants, but that plan is amateur theater, and the man in the corner office has been to this show before. He practically wrote it.

Add the supporting cast of suspects. Matt Clark has been making silent calls, Nick Newman keeps looking at his sister like he has a thought he is afraid to finish, and Nikki Newman has a mother’s radar that has never once been wrong. Somebody in that family is going to slip, and Victor will be standing right there with his hand out.

The Grace Period Exists Because The Mustache Is Busy

Why hasn’t he pounced already? Because Daddy has a backlog. The backlog includes Nick, Joe and Burrows, plus that ominous promise to “take action” that Victor lobbed into the air like a grenade with the pin already out. Phyllis Summers has also set up shop in a building across from Newman Tower, which means he has an enemy to glare at from his office window every morning. Even the all-seeing eye has a to-do list.

So Victoria gets her grace period. She gets her apartment, her stolen hours and her delusion that she is the cleverest Newman in the building. Enjoy it, sweetheart. Daddy is letting you borrow the leash, and he can reel it in with one phone call.

Here Is How The Knock Happens

Picture it. Boris and Natasha, Victor’s favorite phones to tap, buzz at exactly the wrong second. A text lights up. A door handle turns without a key. Victor Newman does not break into rooms, he simply arrives in them, and the expression on his face says he has been standing outside for ten minutes enjoying the sounds.

Now widen the lens. Billy Abbott and Sally Spectra are heading toward a wedding, and weddings pack ballrooms with exactly the people who ruin affairs. Say Jack Abbott spots his son slipping away from the reception at the same moment Victoria disappears too. One raised eyebrow later, the whole room is doing math, and Daddy gets to choose the cruelest possible audience for his grand entrance.

Daddy Always Gets The Last Word

Victor Newman gave his marching orders on August 31, and the man does not forget his own orders. Anyone who has watched Genoa City long enough knows that silence from him is not permission. It is a countdown. The longer he waits, the bigger the bang, and the shock Victoria and Kyle are due will make the motel look like a nursery rhyme.
