The Evidence Keeps Walking Out of Forrester

Brooke Logan keeps calling her sister’s fashion house a revenge project, and the awkward part for Forrester is that Katie Logan keeps supplying the receipts. Count the defections: Eric Forrester designed for Logan behind Forrester’s back, Hope Logan left with her brother Deke Sharpe and the Hope for the Future diamond, and now Zende Forrester Dominguez has quit and asked to join Team Logan. Every name on that list once belonged to Brooke’s world, which makes the shopping spree feel awfully personal.

Katie’s own mouth is the loudest witness. She told Hope that when Brooke begged her to move past the war, Katie and Donna Logan disowned her, and Brooke called Katie’s moves unforgivable, this from the woman who, by Katie’s count, seduced and stole her husband, twice. Katie says she forgave that, says forgiving is her role, and says the tears are done. Then she asked whether that history makes Logan’s success a little sweeter. “You bet your ass it does.” That is not how a woman sounds when she’s quietly building a legacy.

Then came Zende. When he said he’d be honored to join, Katie couldn’t help smiling and licking her lips, which is not the poker face of someone filling a vacancy. Brooke stormed in, accused her of building Forrester 2.0, and called the whole thing personal and revenge. Katie swore it was good business and the opposite of Forrester. Sure, honey.

Katie Has Waited a Lifetime for This Spotlight

Picture being the Logan sister who spent decades in the wings while Brooke Logan hogged the drama. Then Bill Spencer hands you a brand new fashion house, and suddenly the spotlight has your name stitched into the lining. Katie got a taste of her own success, and the speculation writes itself: she wants a second helping, with her big sister forced to watch from the cheap seats.

The seams are showing. Katie ordered her son Will Spencer’s girlfriend, Melissa Dylan, to prove her loyalty by luring Zende over, barked “Finish the job, Melissa!” and told Will that Dylan wasn’t “Spencer quality” because she saw Brooke’s hunger in her. Will told his mother she was starting to sound like Stephanie Forrester. Ridge Forrester and Brooke fear she’s turning into Bill. A woman who sees her sister in every mirror has not made peace with anything.

Hope Looks Like She Is Starting to Notice

The person who might need to believe Brooke Logan most is Hope. She worried about throwing gas on the fire before Zende was ever pitched, admitted she felt bad leaving him behind, and when Brooke raged about the stabbing in the back, Hope looked at Katie and shook her head. That is a niece doing math.

Meanwhile Brooke left Hope a message saying she loves and misses her, and Hope admitted she misses her mother too. If Katie really has snapped a bit, Hope is standing in the splash zone. Even Eric, the original defector, begged Zende not to repeat his mistake, which sounds a lot like a man who has seen this movie.
