Nadia Bjorlin sat down for a livestream chat on YouTube’s Michael Fairman Channel on Monday, August 31, alongside her Veronica & Julian co-star Kyler Pettis, and revealed something DAYS fans didn’t see coming. Chloe Lane has been part of the Days of Our Lives canvas on and off since 1999, and host Michael Fairman asked Bjorlin directly whether a comeback as Chloe was in the cards. Bjorlin hesitated for a beat, joking about whether she was even allowed to answer given how far in advance the show tapes, before confirming she’d actually been asked, and had said no.

The actress previously played Chloe for over two decades across multiple stints, most recently departing the canvas in October 2023. She’s since built out a busy career in independent film, most recently starring alongside Kyler Pettis, who won a Daytime Emmy for playing Theo Carver, in the New York-set romantic drama Veronica & Julian. It’s the clearest confirmation yet that Chloe’s return, at least with Bjorlin in the role, isn’t happening any time soon.

Why Nadia Bjorlin Turned Down The Offer

When Michael Fairman pressed further, Bjorlin confirmed that Days of Our Lives had, in fact, approached her about coming back as Chloe. She explained that logistics, not a lack of desire, made the answer no. Between production budgets and the realities of network television these days, the offer didn’t come together the way it needed to for her to say yes.

Bjorlin now lives in Ireland with her husband and their two children, a detail that adds real weight to why flying back and forth for a contract role wasn’t realistic this time around. She admitted it wasn’t an easy call, saying the decision hurt to make given how much Chloe and her Days family still mean to her. Still, she was clear that turning down the role doesn’t rule out anything down the road.

Who’s Actually Playing Chloe

With Bjorlin confirming she’s out, all signs point to who’s stepping into Chloe’s shoes next. Social media has been buzzing over General Hospital alum Sofia Mattsson, best known for playing Sasha Gilmore, who is confirmed to be joining the Days of Our Lives canvas in an undisclosed role with filming already underway. Bjorlin was careful not to confirm or deny whether Mattsson is playing Chloe outright, but the timing lines up almost perfectly with her own exit from the running. DAYS itself has stayed quiet on the official casting, but Salem clearly isn’t done with Chloe’s story.
