General Hospital Recap September 28, 2026: Jenz Sidwell’s Heart Picks the Worst Possible Moment to Stop Cooperating

TL;DR: This General Hospital Recap catches Jenz Sidwell’s heart going haywire at GH, Sonny Corinthos and Justine Turner playing with fire, Charlotte Cassadine facing the fallout with Lulu Spencer and Valentin Cassadine, Carly Spencer getting quizzed by her brother, and Anna Devane picking up an unexpected tail.

Jenz Sidwell’s Heart Stops Cooperating

Jenz Sidwell made it out of the Pentonville ambush, but his stay at General Hospital nearly finished what the goons started. When Dante Falconeri swung by, Elizabeth Baldwin broke the news that Sidwell and Curtis Ashford had both been admitted, then walked him in to see a patient who looked like he’d gone ten rounds with a cement mixer. Dante asked who’d done this, and Sidwell answered with a knowing question of his own. Subtle, he is not.

Down the hall, Isaiah Gannon got assigned to patch up Curtis, which is awkward when you consider the history between these two men. Isaiah even offered to swap in a different physician, which irritated the guard standing watch, but Curtis waved it off and let him get to work. Tests later confirmed nothing was broken aside from his ribs, though Isaiah still wanted an MRI. Curtis’s only request was that nobody be told. Because keeping injuries secret from your loved ones always works out beautifully in this town.

Dante, meanwhile, wisely handed the case to Joe Fitzpatrick over a potential conflict of interest, then summoned Justine Turner to the hospital. Once briefed, Justine charged into Sidwell’s room to question him and got promptly tossed out by Tristan Roberts. Joe tried the same move with Curtis and got the same treatment from Isaiah. The doctors of GH are one bouncer’s license away from running a nightclub.

Liz then leveled with Dante that Sidwell was in rough shape, and Dante admitted the thing nobody wants to say out loud: his dad might be behind all of it. Moments later, Isaiah went in to check on Sidwell, and his heart slid straight into ventricular fibrillation. Timing, as always at GH, was impeccable.

When Joe and Justine finally got their crack at Curtis, he laid it out: three men jumped him and Sidwell, and they claimed Sonny Corinthos sent them. Justine had to stand there and hear that about the man she’d been in bed with earlier that day. Of course, in Port Charles, a name tossed around during a beatdown isn’t always the whole story.

Sonny’s Secrets Keep Multiplying

Rewind to earlier, when Sonny and Justine were tangled up in bed after a romp, trading jokes about her apparently elite cornhole skills. Once the giggles faded, Justine fretted that they might be far more visible than they realize. Sonny’s philosophy: suspicion without evidence counts for nothing, so they need to watch appearances and nothing more. Justine countered that the second either of them senses danger, they walk. Given how the rest of her day went, she may want to lace up her sneakers now.

Later, Sonny joined his grandson, Gio Palmieri, and Emma Scorpio-Drake, who reminisced about his old music-industry days and wondered if he still had connections, since Gio could use a manager. Sonny happily agreed to help, with one condition: it stays hush-hush. Gio thought that was unfair, but Sonny insisted he didn’t want the credit. Sonny Corinthos declining credit for something? Hold that thought until he’s also declining credit for a certain Pentonville cell.

Charlotte Cassadine Gets Sent Packing

Over at Lulu Spencer‘s place, Charlotte Cassadine went nuclear when she learned her new mailing address would be a Maine boarding school. Her argument? Her dad was penalizing her for following his own lessons to the letter. Valentin Cassadine countered that her choices had been reckless and she had no idea what kind of danger she was courting. Charlotte then begged to go live with her mom again. Nice try, kid.

Lulu asked for a private word and made it clear she and Valentin were a united front. When Charlotte insisted the whole thing sounded worse than the reality, Lulu asked what would have happened if Drew Cain had misread the situation and assaulted her. The very fact that Charlotte thought her plan was smart proved she needed more supervision than her parents could give. Lulu also pointed out that Charlotte had been ready to extort a man and twist laws designed to protect genuine victims of predators. Boarding school, Lulu explained, isn’t a punishment but a chance to figure out what kind of person she’d like to be. Charlotte accepted it, with one request: a goodbye with Danny Morgan first.

Meanwhile, a rattled Valentin crossed paths with Anna Devane out on the patio at the Metro Court and confessed he’d been an awful father. He feels he gave his daughter a warped sense of where she stands in life, encouraged her worst instincts and ignored how much danger she was in, and he finally sees how badly she needs Lulu. Valentin didn’t know how to live with the idea that he’d damaged his own child. Anna’s comforting reply: everybody messes up their kids. Coming from a woman whose own granddaughter had been glaring at her across that same patio, it landed with authority.

Rocco Falconeri met Danny at the boathouse and caught him up on how he’d stopped Charlotte and the trouble she was now in. He added that Scout Cain had been there and knew about the plan, but he doubted she’d tell Drew. Danny said he was glad the two of them could count on each other. After Rocco left, Charlotte arrived to break the news that her parents were sending her away. Danny suggested she might end up liking it. She promised she would loathe it. He swore everything would be fine. Rocco then headed home, where Lulu broke the boarding school news to him. Family dinners are about to get very quiet.

Carly Faces Her Brother’s Interrogation

At the apartment Lucas Jones now shares with Joe, Carly Spencer showed up bearing a toaster and a bottle of wine and immediately started pumping Joe for details on life with Lucas. Her brother swooped in to tell Joe not to answer. Joe headed off to work, which, given what was waiting for him at GH, was not the quiet shift he’d hoped for.

Carly gave Lucas the rundown on the Charlotte saga, and he promptly turned the spotlight on her, asking exactly how attached she and Valentin had become. Carly explained that they’d been thrown together by circumstance and their bond had only deepened since. She admitted the Valentin situation is messy, and she’s unsure what she wants. Then Lucas asked the question: is she actually in love with the man? Considering Carly once knocked Valentin out with a glass object, this romance has come a very long way.

Anna Devane Has a Tail

Earlier, out on the Metro Court’s patio, Anna brought Tristan up to speed. The WSB is allowing her to stay in town and receive therapy locally, so she won’t be needing his help after all. Tristan was impressed by the bureau’s support and offered to back her up if she ever needs more. Anna admitted Tristan brings to mind someone who’s currently half a world away. Cryptic, Anna. Very cryptic.

Gio then steered Emma to a table, where she spent the whole time staring daggers at her grandmother. He sat her down facing the other way so she’d stop surveilling Anna, then explained that Trina Robinson and he are forging ahead with their music, minus his mom. Anna eventually came over to ask whether Emma was monitoring her. Emma fired back by asking who Anna had been sitting with. Anna didn’t explain and simply walked away. The WSB may have backed off, but Emma Scorpio-Drake is running her own surveillance operation.

A beaten man’s heart went haywire in a GH bed while Curtis named the name nobody wanted to hear, and Dante braced for the possibility that his own father was behind it. Sonny spent part of his day in bed with the woman now investigating him and another part secretly helping his grandson. Charlotte got packed off to Maine, Valentin owned his parenting failures, Carly got cornered about her heart, and Anna discovered her granddaughter has a promising future in espionage.
