Harrison Chase has been chasing the same car crash lead since April, and on General Hospital, that apparently counts as thrilling television. It does not.
A Crash That Happened in April Is Somehow Still a Mystery in September
General Hospital Spoilers would like you to believe this is a gripping mystery. Harrison Chase has been investigating one car crash since April, and if you thought that sentence was going somewhere satisfying, congratulations on being new here. Back on April 8, Jordan Ashford swerved off Route 91 to avoid an oncoming car, the driver of that car sped off without stopping, and Curtis Ashford was left holding an unconscious wife and a broken phone. That same night, Danny Morgan and Charlotte turned up nearby with Carly’s banged-up car, and Danny claimed he’d been the one driving it. Cool, great, mystery solved, roll credits.
Except it is now September, five months later, and Chase is still working this case like it happened yesterday. Somewhere along the way, Danny’s confession quietly stopped mattering, and the investigation pivoted entirely toward Brook Lynn Quartermaine, because apparently this show has unlimited runway for one hit-and-run and zero interest in landing the plane.

Chase Confronts His Own Wife With the Subtlety of a Parking Ticket
Today’s big breakthrough, and I use that word generously, is that Emma mentioned Brook Lynn showed up late to Charlie’s Pub the night of the crash and missed Trina and Gio’s first set. That’s it. That’s the smoking gun. A woman was tardy to a bar performance, therefore she may have committed a felony hit-and-run on the same stretch of highway her family conveniently already had a wrecked car towed off of that same night. Harrison Chase heard this and apparently thought, yes, this checks out, time to confront my own wife.
So he did, pulling Brook Lynn into a kitchen mid-party to inform her that her car was on Route 91 the night of the crash and that she’s covering for someone in the family. Brook Lynn, cornered, promised to tell him everything after the party, which is the soap opera equivalent of “we’ll circle back,” and everyone watching knows exactly how long that circling back is going to take. Naturally, Trina Robinson was standing right outside the terrace door for all of it, and marched into the party to demand publicly whether Brook Lynn was the driver who left her father and Jordan on the side of the road, in front of Tracy, Michael, Jordan, Kai, Gio, Emma, and Chase himself.
This Is What Passes for Progress
Let’s be clear about where the actual investigation stands after five months of tireless police work: Brook Lynn is a suspect. Not a confirmed driver, not a proven anything, a suspect, based on a lateness alibi flimsier than a paper umbrella. This show had an entire summer to give Harrison Chase a single piece of hard evidence and instead gave him vibes, a timeline gap, and his own wife’s discomfort at a party.
Compare that to April, when Danny straight up told people he was driving the car that got wrecked that same night in the same general area, and the show acted like that was a minor footnote instead of an actual lead. Nobody has definitively ruled Danny out, nobody has definitively confirmed Brook Lynn, and Chase has apparently spent five months choosing not to ask either of them the same direct question twice in a row.
Circle Back Next Year, Probably
At this rate, expect Harrison Chase to solve this sometime around the holidays, right after he finally notices his badge has been upside down the whole time. Brook Lynn Quartermaine remains a suspect, Curtis Ashford still doesn’t have an answer, and soap circles have started a betting pool on whether this ever actually resolves. The rest of us are here watching a hit-and-run take longer to resolve than most actual criminal trials.
