Justine Turner is betting her whole D.A. campaign on a clean record, and she’s already lying about it. When Jordan Ashford warned her that rivals would come digging for skeletons, Justine swore they wouldn’t find a thing, while glancing across the Brown Dog at Sonny Corinthos. Later that night, she was kissing him in the same parking lot where they shared their first kiss.

She knows exactly how dangerous he is to her ambitions. She turned down a getaway with Sonny because she couldn’t risk her career. Then Jordan caught them, and instead of walking away, Justine texted Sonny to meet, told him it might be their last time, and ended the night agreeing to keep seeing him in secret. That isn’t a woman protecting her campaign. That’s a woman who has already decided Sonny is worth the risk.

And Sonny sealed the deal with the most dangerous line in his repertoire: for the first time in a long time, he’s being completely honest with someone he cares about.

Sonny’s Honesty Comes With An Asterisk

Here’s what Sonny didn’t mention during all that honesty. He told his brother, Ric Lansing, that he keeps an eye on the families of several prisoners in exchange for them keeping tabs on Jenz Sidwell. He sent an associate to deliver a message at Pentonville. Days later, Sonny’s associate and two other inmates jumped Sidwell in his cell and walked out with a parting shot: “Sonny Corinthos owes you this. And more.”

Sidwell had already told Alexis Davis that Sonny was trying to have him killed. Now he has bruises to prove it. For a woman running on a law-and-order ticket, a boyfriend whose name gets dropped at a prison beatdown isn’t a skeleton in the closet. It’s a whole cemetery.

Justine even let Sonny grill her privately about the WSB’s latest arrest, explaining the WSB’s jurisdiction like she was briefing a client. How long before somebody asks why the would-be D.A. is giving a notorious ex-mobster the inside scoop?

Jordan Is The Ticking Clock

Right now, Justine Turner’s secret lives with one person. Jordan promised discretion, endorsed the campaign and even agreed to show up at the kick-off rally despite her hesitancy to be seen in public. But Jordan also warned Justine point blank that Sonny’s reputation would drag hers down, legit or not.

Now add the detail that changes everything. Curtis Ashford is Sidwell’s cellmate. He tried to warn Sidwell, walked back in at the worst possible moment, and ended up laid out on the floor beside him after Sonny’s crew was done. The minute Jordan learns her husband got hurt in a hit carrying Sonny’s name, the loyalty math changes fast. Keeping a friend’s romance quiet is one thing. Protecting the man whose people left Curtis on a cell floor is something else entirely.

A Campaign Built On Quicksand

Even if Jordan holds her tongue, Justine Turner can’t control what comes out of Pentonville. Sidwell wants a new trial and swears he signed his plea under duress. Any lawyer who takes his case will go straight for Sonny, and anyone who digs into Sonny will find a sitting prosecutor sneaking off to the studio above Charlie’s Pub. One subpoena, one photo, one angry witness, and the campaign dies before a single yard sign goes up.
