Days of Our Lives Spoilers: This Week (October 5-9)

Monday, October 5
On Days of Our Lives, Johnny DiMera walked into the Salem police station and gave Belle Black and Jada Hunter a statement about the Coriseal contamination and the cover-up that followed. He told them he had no part in the original crime, but he did leave that clue to save Holly. His lawyer walked out when Johnny insisted on going ahead, and Belle told him they don’t have anything yet to charge anyone with. Johnny vowed to tell what he knows anyway. Chanel Dupree was worried, but she stood by her husband.

Over at the hospital, Joy Wesley hid her pills from Kate Roberts and said she had nowhere to go once she’s discharged, since rehab places won’t let her bring Kelsey. So she called Alex Kiriakis and asked if she and Kelsey could stay with him. Stephanie Johnson, who had just been handed a date night by her husband, rolled her eyes and then nodded yes, and Alex told Joy it was very temporary. Alone with Kelsey’s photo, Joy promised it will not be. Kate also went over the final paperwork for Maggie Kiriakis‘s sale of the mansion and asked whether Maggie was sure about what she put on the disclosure form.

Tuesday, October 6
Maggie and Kate gathered Philip Kiriakis, Xander Kiriakis and Sarah Horton at the Pub with a plan to save the Kiriakis mansion: make it look like a money pit full of mold and vermin so a failed inspection scares off the buyer, Dominic Marino. Sarah worried about more legal trouble, then joined anyway and brought Brady Black along. Roman Brady caught wind of the scheme and pitched in too, worried about Dominic’s connection to Stefano. Inside the empty mansion, Xander rigged leaky pipes, Roman took the electrical, Sarah painted on fake black mold, and Philip suited up to plant asbestos in the attic. Roman told Kate this was his problem too, and they kissed. Xander got soaked in the basement and peeled off his shirt in front of an appreciative Sarah, and later the co-parents admitted it would be nice to be back under one roof for Victoria.

Rachel Black woke up with a stomachache. Brady found no fever and chalked it up to nerves over a math test, but it got worse, he went to pick her up, and once she was home she told him, “I want mom.” In the square, Theo Carver, played for this one episode by Tajh Bellow, turned down Gabi Hernandez‘s job offer but said he still wants to help her expose EJ. He told her he wants to destroy DiMera and hold the people at the top accountable. Philip later surprised Gabi with a kiss, then deleted an email inviting him to a high-stakes poker game.

Wednesday, October 7
EJ DiMera told Rita he overheard Marlena’s questions, asked her point blank whether Dominic Marino is his brother, and demanded the birth certificate. Rita said she had no answers and told him to ask Rolf. When EJ accused her of betraying him, Rita reminded him she knows all his deepest, darkest secrets, ticked off what he did to Kristen and Holly, and said she knows where the bodies are buried. As EJ moved in on her, Jada Hunter walked in, checked on Rita, and told EJ it was time for some questioning.

Sarah Horton helped get Joy Wesley ready for discharge, suggested a trainer, and called Tate Black, who was out buying flowers with Brady Black for Marlena’s birthday. Joy gave Tate a frosty welcome and brought up the last time they saw each other, then he got a text and bolted. Back home, Rachel Black had thrown up, was burning with fever and crying over her stomach. Brady called an ambulance, Javi Hernandez suspected appendicitis, and Sarah confirmed it at the hospital and said Rachel needs surgery right away. Rachel screamed for her mommy, and Brady admitted he has a way to reach Kristen in an emergency and is pretty sure this counts. Later, Joy put on her makeup and wiggled her feet as she confirmed with Alex Kiriakis that he would pick her up.

Leo Stark moved his plans with Javi to lunch and was reading glowing reviews of his podcast when Shawn Brady showed up with a tip that someone in Leo’s room was selling counterfeit handbags. Shawn told him to get a lawyer, opened the boxes, found knockoff Gabi Chic goods, read Leo his rights and placed him under arrest, while Javi sat at the bar thinking he had been stood up. Jada and Shawn, meanwhile, got home after returning Kelsey and headed for the bedroom, then talked shop afterward: Johnny turning EJ in and a new lead on a case Shawn is working.

Thursday, October 8
Chanel Dupree finished her last round of chemo with Johnny DiMera by her side. She called EJ a monster but told Johnny she understood he covered for his father to protect the family, and he admitted part of him hopes EJ escapes the charges. She was not thrilled to hear he is keeping the DiMera CEO job. Then Lani Price and Paulina Price arrived with the babies, and Chanel thanked the hospital staff and rang the bell to mark the end of her treatment. Earlier, Paulina learned the governor won’t grant Lani a pardon, and she fired back by sending him Lani’s podcast and the comments calling for one.

At the DiMera mansion, Dante Vitali surprised Sydney DiMera, said he had a message to deliver to EJ in person, and shared that he and Sami plan to marry in Tuscany, with no date set yet. Sydney called Belle Black at the hospital, where Belle and Marlena Evans were waiting on news from Rachel’s surgery on Marlena’s birthday, to pass along that Dominic Marino will come to Salem when he’s ready. Marlena then told Belle about the birth certificate listing her and Stefano as Dominic’s parents, wondered whether it could have happened while she was in a coma on Stefano’s island, and asked Belle to keep it quiet.

At the police station, Jada Hunter questioned EJ DiMera about the contaminated Coriseal. EJ called the allegations absurd and pointed the finger at George O’Halloran, then realized Johnny was the one who talked and was badly shaken. Belle came by too and warned him to leave Johnny alone. Jada told a handcuffed Leo Stark she would have him released, and Leo later brought Marlena birthday flowers and sat with her. When EJ got home, he and Dante finally met, and Dante let slip that Sami had told him more about EJ than he needed to know.

Friday, October 9
Joy is unhappy with the discharge orders Kayla Brady Johnson hands her, Stephanie and Alex steal a private moment, and Belle turns to Chad DiMera for help. Kristen DiMera tracks down Sophia Choi, alive and waiting tables as “Amelia” at a diner in Paducah, Kentucky, and Steve Johnson receives concerning news from Johnny.

Days of Our Lives Spoilers: Next Week (October 12-16)

Expect Johnny’s confession to snowball. He went to Rafe on October 2, gave Belle and Jada a statement on October 5 and lost his lawyer over it, and on October 8 EJ sat across from Jada and worked out that his own son was the one who talked. Belle has warned EJ to leave Johnny alone, and Steve gets concerning news from Johnny on Friday, so none of this is going to stay contained. We’d bet father and son come face to face over it sooner than anyone is ready for.

Watch for Joy’s carefully managed situation to get harder to maintain. Sarah and Tate are now in the mix, Stephanie nearly walks in on her at a bad moment, and discharge orders she hates could box her in, so don’t be surprised if the people who have been quietly helping her start asking what exactly they were helping with.

We’d bet on the Dominic mystery getting a lot more personal. Even the Kiriakis family’s mansion sabotage is aimed at him, since he is the one buying the house. Marlena has now told Belle about the birth certificate, EJ demanded Rita tell him whether Dominic is his brother, and Dante arrived in Salem with word that Dominic will come to town when he’s ready, all of which points toward a bigger reveal, and Steve and Brady are determined to get the DNA proof. Someone is going to run out of cover very soon.

Then there’s Kristen. Finding Sophia alive in a Kentucky diner hands her a problem she thought she had buried, and we’d bet that discovery doesn’t stay in Paducah for long.

Days of Our Lives Spoilers: The Big Stories Right Now

Joy’s House of Cards
Joy’s muscle relaxers arrived in a package from her father, and she was groggy by the time Kayla told her the nerve conduction results were abnormal. She claimed she just hadn’t slept. Alex has kept Stephanie at arm’s length to protect the custody deal, leaving Stephanie stuck on the sidelines, and on October 5 Joy talked her way into Alex and Stephanie’s home with Kelsey after hiding her pills from Kate. Alex calls it very temporary. Joy, talking to Kelsey’s picture, does not sound like she agrees. On October 7 Sarah sent Tate her way as a possible trainer and Joy met him with a frosty welcome, then she wiggled her feet as she called Alex to confirm her pickup. A preview has Stephanie knocking on her door at exactly the wrong moment, and Kayla’s discharge orders leave Joy with little to smile about. When a story like this starts to unravel, it tends to take everyone nearby with it.

Johnny’s Impossible Choice
Johnny helped cover up EJ’s illegal activity, and he promised Chanel he would tell her everything once he set things right. Sydney urged him to let the FDA investigation play out rather than turn on their father, but Johnny decided coming forward was the better gamble. On October 2 he went to Rafe, told him the FDA complaints were legitimate and that EJ knew about Coriseal, and Rafe promised to stand by him. On October 5 he gave Belle and Jada a statement at the police station, owned up to the clue he left to save Holly, and kept going even after his lawyer walked out. Belle says they don’t have anything yet to charge anyone with, but on October 7 Jada told EJ it was time for some questioning, and on October 8 she questioned him about the contaminated Coriseal. EJ called it absurd and blamed George O’Halloran, then realized Johnny was the one who talked. Chanel finished chemo the same day, called EJ a monster and was not thrilled that Johnny is keeping the CEO job, and on Friday Steve gets concerning news from him. Whatever comes next, he is risking his marriage, his family and his freedom.

Dominic Marino and Marlena’s Secret
A birth certificate listing Stefano and Marlena as Dominic’s parents has turned Marlena’s dream about Stefano’s island, which she wasn’t sure was a dream or a memory, into something much harder to dismiss. She asked Steve to keep it quiet, told Brady herself, and Belle has already apologized for pushing too hard. Then on October 2 Marlena demanded to know from Rita whether Dominic is her son with Stefano, and EJ walked in and heard the question. On October 7 EJ told Rita he overheard those questions, asked whether Dominic is his brother and demanded the birth certificate. Rita said she had no answers, pointed him to Rolf, and reminded him she knows where the bodies are buried. On October 8 Marlena told Belle about the certificate, wondered whether it could have happened while she was in a coma on Stefano’s island, and asked her to keep it quiet. The same day Dante turned up at the DiMera mansion, met EJ, and passed word through Sydney that Dominic will come to Salem when he’s ready. Dante was Dominic’s boarding school roommate, so he adds fuel. The Stefano game keeps getting more tangled, and everyone has a stake in how it ends.

Philip’s Plan and Gabi’s Offer
Philip saved Titan with a gambling windfall and handed Maggie her ring back. He told Maggie the gambling was a one-time thing, and he promised Kate and Gabi he won’t gamble again. On October 6 he was all in on Maggie and Kate’s plan to make the Kiriakis mansion look like a money pit so Dominic backs out of buying it, and he suited up for the attic himself. Theo turned down Gabi’s job offer the same day, but he wants to help her expose EJ, so a new partnership is taking shape alongside the romance. Then a high-stakes poker invite landed in Philip’s inbox. He deleted it, this time.

Brady’s Worry Over Rachel
Rachel gave Brady cause for concern on October 6. She woke up with a stomachache he blamed on nerves over a math test, it got worse, and once he brought her home she told him, “I want mom.” On October 7 she threw up, spiked a fever and doubled over in pain, Javi suspected appendicitis, and Sarah confirmed it and said she needs surgery right away. Rachel screamed for her mommy, and Brady admitted he has a way to reach Kristen in an emergency. On October 8 Belle and Marlena waited at the hospital for news from her surgery. Kristen has been gone for months, and her daughter wants her more than ever.
