The Missing Newman

Where has Abby Newman been? Don’t ask a Newman. She hasn’t had a seat at the Newman table for years. However, Claire now Newman will have a seat alongside her grandmother Nikki Newman at Chancellor Winters. Let’s unpack a bit of the Newman family tree on Young & the Restless…

Victoria Newman’s Children, Just One is Named Newman

Reed Hellstrom (Tristan Lake Leabu), Victoria Newman’s (Amelia Heinle) oldest son with her ex-husband JT Hellstrom (Thad Luckinbill) is a Hellstrom & not a Newman. Victoria’s son & daughter with Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) are Abbotts & not Newmans. Now there’s Claire Grace renamed Claire Newman (Hayley Erin) on Young & the Restless. Claire’s father is the very much alive & well Cole Howard (J. Eddie Peck). Why isn’t Claire taking her father’s last name as Victoria’s other children have after their dads/Victoria’s other ex-husbands? Also, why isn’t anyone asking Claire to take another DNA test to make damn sure she’s a Newman? Claire has been reintroduced to the Newman family for about 10 minutes. Why the endless red carpet for this child of Victoria Newmans?

Abby Newman Without a Seat at the Newman Table

Where’s Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway)? She’s not in Paris visiting her mother Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson). She isn’t managing Society. Abby has Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) managing her restaurant. She’s not catching up with her son’s legal father Chance Chancellor (Connor Floyd) to let him know she plans to marry their sperm donor this fall & also plans to continue living inside the Chancellor Mansion. What is this woman doing & why doesn’t anyone care, including her father Victor Newman (Eric Braeden)?

Abby’s Newman History

Abby Newman was a “Young & the Restless Paternity Test Kid” for a period of time. She was initially raised as Ashley Abbott & Brad Carleton’s (Don Diamont) daughter. It was later revealed that Ashley got creative with Victor Newman’s sperm & Abby is Victor’s daughter & when she isn’t married she does go by Abby Newman.

Victor Newman is doing everything in his power to play musical chairs with all of the companies underneath the Newman Enterprises umbrella, including acquiring Chancellor Industries. Where is Abby Newman’s spot? Doesn’t she have seniority?

Ex-wife Sharon Newman is Still a Newman (Only) on Y&R

Speaking of being a Newman. How is Sharon (Sharon Case) a Newman again? She was last married to Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) until he was killed tragically in a car accident. When the Young & the Restless credits roll Sharon Case is Sharon Newman & not Sharon Rosales.

Sharon has been married to both Newman brothers Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) & Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow), but so has Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan). Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) has been married to Nick Newman & they have a child together, Summer Newman (Allison Lanier). Why isn’t Phyllis Summers Phyllis Newman?

I really hope Claire is proved not to be a Newman. She is the most irritating character ever to be on the show. They are trying to make her look a little less than Little Orphan Annie but she is still plain and boring.

Don’t forget Sharon was also briefly married to Victor. So, she has basically gone through all the men in the family!!

I totally agree with all of this!!! Cannot help but wonder if she is doing favors for someone like the writers or maybe because she was also on General Hospital?? Personally I don’t like her acting. No talent.. should maybe audition for a horror role
