CANE ASHBY MAKES YET ANOTHER BOLD MOVE TO WIN LILY WINTERS BACK ON NEW YEAR’S EVE
TL;DR: Cane Ashby makes another bold move to impress Lily Winters on Wednesday’s Young and the Restless because apparently the word “no” isn’t in his vocabulary. Plus, Adam and Sally revisit their messy past, and Tessa explores feelings for Daniel.
Sir, She’s Just Not That Into You
Happy New Year’s Eve, Young and the Restless fans! While the rest of Genoa City is popping champagne and making resolutions, Cane Ashby is making yet another bold move to impress Lily Winters. And honestly? At this point, we have to admire his persistence even if we’re exhausted by it.
Let’s recap Cane’s recent track record: He returned to town as the villainous “Aristotle Dumas,” tried to take over every legacy company in Genoa City, got his software stolen by Phyllis, watched Lily catch him kissing Phyllis, and somehow STILL thinks he has a shot. The man has the audacity of a thousand suns and the self-awareness of a potato. We’re simultaneously impressed and horrified.

Cane Ashby Does Not Understand the Assignment
Here’s the thing about Cane: he’s not wrong that he and Lily have history. They share twins. They survived cancer together. They had a beautiful love story once upon a time. But then he showed up as a tech bro supervillain, partnered with Phyllis Summers of all people, and expected Lily to just forget all of that because he smiled at her nicely.
Lily has been softening toward Cane lately, which is frankly baffling given his recent behavior. She even let him be her plus-one to the Abbott Communications launch party, though she insisted it wasn’t a date. Billy Flynn has been playing Cane’s redemption arc with just enough charm to make you almost believe him, which is probably why Lily keeps giving him chances.
But then Lily walked in on Cane and Phyllis locking lips, and whatever progress he’d made went straight out the window. So what’s his bold New Year’s Eve move? We’re dying to find out, and also dreading it because this man’s romantic gestures tend to be a lot.
Adam and Sally Revisit the Mess
Meanwhile, Adam Newman and Sally Spectra are discussing their complicated past on Wednesday. And boy, is it complicated. These two have been on again, off again more times than anyone can count. They’ve had heartbreak, loss, near-misses, and enough drama to fill three soap operas.
Adam is currently with Chelsea, and Sally has moved on, but that doesn’t mean the feelings just evaporate. When two people share the kind of history Adam and Sally do, there’s always going to be unfinished business lurking beneath the surface. Whether this conversation reopens old wounds or provides closure remains to be seen, but knowing these two, it’s probably going to be messy.
Tessa Has Feelings for Daniel
In news that will make Teriah fans clutch their pearls, Tessa is exploring her feelings for Daniel Romalotti on Wednesday. Tessa and Mariah have been going through it lately, and Daniel has been spending a lot of time with Tessa. Now those friendly vibes are apparently turning into something more, at least on Tessa’s end.
Daniel and Tessa have been hanging out partly because Phyllis keeps dragging them both into her schemes. But somewhere along the way, Tessa started catching feelings. Whether she acts on them or stuffs them down deep is the question. Mariah is not going to be happy about this development, and New Year’s Eve seems like a particularly cruel time to be having romantic revelations about someone who isn’t your wife.
