And then she came through the back door and saw Sonny Corinthos sitting with Carly Spencer.

What Josslyn Jacks Actually Said

She did not scream. She did not throw things. She walked in, looked her mother in the eye, and delivered the most honest sentence anyone in Port Charles has said out loud in recent memory.

“I am not going to lie because I do not respect my mother’s decisions.”

That is it. That is the whole thing. Clean. Specific. Devastating.

Sonny told her to treat Carly with respect. Josslyn told him she was not going to perform respect she did not feel. Carly reprimanded her. Josslyn railed about her mother not thinking about how her choices affect her children. And then she left because there was nothing left to say and she had already said everything that mattered.

Why Josslyn Is Right

Let us be very clear about what Carly Spencer has been doing lately and why Josslyn’s frustration is completely earned.

Carly is hiding Valentin Cassadine in her attic. She is dating a WSB agent who recruited her daughter into a dangerous operation and lied about it. She is still letting Sonny into her home and her orbit in ways that create exactly the kind of crossfire she keeps promising Josslyn she wants to avoid. She has been told repeatedly that her choices are putting people around her in danger. She keeps making them anyway.

Josslyn is not asking her mother to be perfect. She is asking her to think about the blast radius. And Carly Spencer, with the best intentions and the worst instincts, keeps refusing to do that.

The Part Where We Ask Carly to Sit Down

Sonny commanding Josslyn to show respect in a house that is not his, for a situation he is actively contributing to, was a choice. We are going to let that breathe for a moment.

Josslyn Jacks is running out of patience and she is running out of it for very specific documented reasons that this show has laid out in careful detail. She is not a petulant daughter throwing a tantrum. She is a young woman who has been asked to carry an enormous amount of weight while watching the adults around her refuse to acknowledge how heavy it is.

“You are not thinking about the effects your choices have on your children.” That is not a teenager having a meltdown. That is an accurate statement of fact delivered by someone who has been on the receiving end of those effects for years.

Josslyn Jacks is the only person in Port Charles saying it out loud. We are glad someone finally did.
