General Hospital
Valentin Cassadine Is About to Break Out of Carly’s Attic AND Anna Devane Out of a French Asylum on General Hospital
Valentin Cassadine has been hiding in Carly’s attic for five months and today he announced he is going to France to save Anna Devane.
VALENTIN CASSADINE IS LEAVING CARLY FOR ANNA DEVANE
TL;DR: Valentin Cassadine has been hiding in Carly Spencer’s attic for five months on General Hospital. Today he announced he is going to France to break Anna Devane out of a maximum-security facility. The unhinged theory: Valentin is choosing his ex over the woman who protected him, abandoning Carly’s hunt for Josslyn, and walking into Cullum’s territory to do it. The Carly-Valentin arrangement is officially over.
Valentin Cried Once and Booked a Flight
Valentin Cassadine fought back tears today on General Hospital, took a call on a burner phone, told Carly Spencer the news, and then announced he was getting on a plane to France.
Anna Devane had been recaptured. Anna was being transferred to a maximum-security psychiatric facility. Anna was desperate. Anna was scared. And Valentin, the man Carly has been hiding in her attic for five months while she ran her own family operation in chaos, decided in the same breath that Anna was the priority.
Carly is going to lose her mind.
The unhinged theory: Valentin is walking out of Carly’s house with no plan to come back, leaving Carly to find Josslyn alone, abandoning the only person who has protected him since January, and breaking the cover that has kept him alive. He is doing all of it because Anna asked nothing of him and he heard the asking anyway.

Carly Hid Him for Five Months
Let us not skip past what Carly has done for this man. She hid Valentin in her attic in January. She lied to her family. She lied to her ex-husband. She lied to her sons. She lied to a federal investigation. She has been operating a one-woman safe house for a fugitive Cassadine for five straight months and she has not once asked him to leave.
Valentin has eaten her food, slept under her roof, eavesdropped from behind her walls, and used her trust to stay alive. Carly is the reason Valentin Cassadine still has a heartbeat. And the moment Anna’s voice came over a burner phone in Carly’s living room, Valentin chose Anna anyway.
The math is brutal. The math is also Valentin Cassadine.
Anna Is the One Person Valentin Will Risk Everything For
There has never been anyone else for Valentin like Anna. Not Nina. Not Lulu. Not the long parade of Cassadine women who tried to claim him. Anna is the one Valentin has been orbiting for thirty years. Anna is the one he writes letters to and never sends. Anna is the one he has been quietly tracking, even from inside Carly’s attic, even from inside a federal manhunt.
So when an associate told him Anna was being shipped to a maximum-security facility for the criminally insane, Valentin did not pause. He did not weigh. He did not consider that leaving Carly’s protection meant Cullum could pick him up on a French tarmac. He told Carly he was going. He meant it. And by the time the conversation was over, Anna was already the only person in Valentin’s calendar.
That is not a man wavering. That is a man who has been waiting for the excuse.
Carly Is About to Search for Josslyn Alone
The cruelty of this storyline is the timing. Carly was already overwhelmed. Carly had Josslyn missing. Carly had Nina threatening her with the WSB. Carly had Cullum showing up at her door. Carly was depending on Valentin to be one steady person in the operation. Valentin is now leaving her with all of it and adding his own rescue mission to the pile.
The moment Valentin gets on that plane, Carly is exposed. She has no Cassadine in her attic to help her think. She has no fugitive paying attention to the storyline from behind her walls. She has only her phone, her exhaustion, and a daughter being held in a basement on Spoon Island while every WSB agent in town tightens the net.
Carly is going to scream at Valentin in the next forty-eight hours. Carly is going to demand he stay. Valentin is going to apologize and leave anyway. And Carly is going to spend the next chapter of this storyline understanding that the one person she trusted picked someone else.
France Is Cullum’s Territory
Here is the worst part of the unhinged theory. Valentin is walking into Cullum’s jurisdiction. The WSB has resources in France. The agency that has been hunting Valentin Cassadine since January will get a tip the moment he lands. Cullum has been cleaning up loose ends. A fugitive Cassadine in France attempting an extraction of the woman the WSB has officially diagnosed as a danger to herself is exactly the loose end Cullum will end with one phone call.
Valentin is going to get there. Valentin is going to find Anna. And Valentin may not make it back. The unhinged theory ends with Anna escaping and Valentin in a French cell, or worse, on a coroner’s table, having paid the full price for choosing her over Carly.
Bring tissues. Valentin spent five months under Carly’s roof and walked out for the one person who never asked him to. Carly will not forgive him. Anna may not survive him. And Cullum is about to have his loose end on a transatlantic flight.
Does Valentin make it back from France, or does Cullum finally get the loose end he has been chasing? Drop your verdict in the comments on our Facebook page.
