Bulletproof Vests, Buried Twins, and a Splash That Sent Tracy to Jail! General Hospital Moments That Shocked Us This Week
General Hospital served up five jaw dropping moments this week from a cell-side kidnapping to a Quartermaine getting arrested at her own lake.
GENERAL HOSPITAL HIT US WITH FIVE BOMBSHELLS PORT CHARLES NEVER SAW COMING
TL;DR: General Hospital absolutely refused to coast this week. A grandmother got tossed in a cell next to a hostage, a twin got cremated, a doctor took two to the chest and lived to tell about it, a kingpin walked out of his own arrest, and a congresswoman went swimming. Port Charles is in absolute shambles, and we are HERE for every shocking second.
Cullum Dumped a Drugged Liesl Obrecht in Joss’s Cell Like She Was Lost Luggage
Save your hearts. Ross Cullum had a man drag a drugged Liesl Obrecht into the cell beneath Wyndemere, throw her on the couch, and walk out without an ounce of remorse. Mama Obrecht has officially been kidnapped to replace Britt Westbourne as the lead scientist on Faison’s cold fusion project.
The worst part? She has no idea her own son is part of what’s happening to her. Kathleen Gati waking up groggy on that couch, looking at Josslyn Jacks and trying to make sense of why she’s been hauled to a basement, was a setup for one of the biggest emotional gut punches General Hospital has delivered all year. We screamed.
Got a wild theory about how Obrecht claws her way out of that basement? Send your hottest reactions to amber@soapoperamagazine.com and we might publish your take!
Cassius Told His Own Mother That Nathan Is Dead and She SLAPPED Him Across the Face
We are still wrecked. When Cassius Faison walked into that cell, Obrecht’s whole face lit up. Her son had come to rescue her. Then Joss told her the truth. He’s working with the enemy. He’s not Nathan. Cassius dropped the bomb himself. “I’m Cassius. Nathan’s twin.”
Obrecht tried to laugh it off. Her son’s twin had died at birth. But then she remembered she was sedated when she gave birth. She never saw the baby. Madeline LIED. Traded him to Faison. And then Cassius delivered the killing blow: Nathan is DEAD. Cassius had him cremated. Spread his ashes in the ocean.
Liesl SLAPPED him. Hard. Across the face. Kathleen Gati delivered the kind of acting masterclass that wins Emmys, and Ryan Paevey absorbing every ounce of his mother’s grief without flinching was devastating. This is what General Hospital does when it lets a legend cook with a layered storyline. Pure soap opera CHURCH.
Lucas Took Two Bullets to the Chest and Stood Right Back Up Because He Was Wearing a VEST
The Wednesday gasp heard round Port Charles. Lucas Jones lured Jenz Sidwell to Marco’s tennis court construction site and confronted him about Marco’s death. Sidwell, breaking down in tears, asked if Lucas ever loved his son or only seduced him to gain his trust. Then he pulled the trigger.
Lucas hit the ground. Sidwell was cuffed by Dante and Joe before he could even process it. And then Lucas SAT UP. Vest. The whole thing was a sting orchestrated by Sonny Corinthos, Laura Collins, and Lucas himself. Sonny’s smug “we’re just doing our civic duty” was the line of the year. General Hospital writers giving us a setup this clean and this satisfying after months of Sidwell terrorizing this town deserves every flower we can throw.
Cassius UNCUFFED Sidwell and Helped Him Escape Right Out From Under the PCPD
Then the writers SWERVED. After Dante asked “Nathan” to take Sidwell to the station and book him, Cassius drove him a few blocks away, UNCUFFED him, and told him to give up the project and vanish. Sidwell, of course, wasn’t going quietly. He ordered Cassius to take a hit so the escape would look real, and Cassius bloodied himself up before calling Dante to claim Sidwell’s “goons” jumped him.
The Wednesday cliffhanger absolutely floored us. The audience just spent the whole episode celebrating Sidwell’s arrest, and now he’s loose in the wind with a contingency plan. General Hospital lulled us into a victory lap and then ripped the rug out. Carlo Rota is being given a long fuse, and we are RIVETED.
Willow Jumped Into the Quartermaine Lake to Frame Tracy and Got Her ARRESTED
This was the most unhinged thing Willow Tait has done all year. Tracy Quartermaine lured her to the Quartermaine lake with a fake text from Wiley. They fought. Willow dragged Tracy’s entire family through the mud and even dropped the D-word about Dylan. Tracy, FURIOUS, grabbed Willow’s arm and told her to stay away from her family.
Willow saw Harrison Chase approaching, yelled “Tracy, you’re hurting me!” and JUMPED into the lake. Chase dove in, rescued her, and Tracy told him the truth. Willow jumped. Chase ARRESTED his own grandmother-in-law right there at the lakeside. Even Willow looked shocked. Jane Elliot in handcuffs because of a soaking wet Katelyn MacMullen with a tiny scrape on her knee is the kind of soap madness we live for.
Which moment do you think rocked Port Charles the hardest, Cassius cremating his own brother or Willow framing a Quartermaine legend for assault? Sound off below because we have a feeling this comment section is about to be a lot!
