Nikki Newman Wraps Herself in a Blanket and Victor Newman’s Arms

Nikki Newman is counting her steps around the house again, determined to prove she can manage on her own, right up until she starts up the stairs and Victor Newman stops her cold. He helps her down himself. She insists she needs to know she can handle things without everyone hovering, but Victor isn’t budging on this one.

He leads her to the sofa, gets her a blanket, and asks if she’s nervous about her bandages coming off tomorrow. She admits she’s preparing herself for any outcome, because she refuses to let uncertainty defeat her. Then the conversation turns real. Nikki tells him she’s living in limbo, angrier at him than she’s ever been, yet somehow still safe with him at the same time. She asks him outright whether his hatred for Jack runs deeper than his love for her. Victor doesn’t answer with words. He answers by holding her while she admits she doesn’t know how to do any of this without him, and breaking down himself right there on the couch.

Is Victor Newman finally being honest with Nikki, or is this just another act before the next betrayal? Send your theories to amber@soapoperamagazine.com, we want to hear them.

Nick Newman Opens Up to Sharon Newman

At Crimson Lights, Nick Newman tells Sharon Newman he’s more anxious about his mom’s surgery results than she seems to be herself. Sharon reminds him his real job right now is staying clean, comparing it to her own daily fight with bipolar disorder. But Nikki isn’t the only thing weighing on him. Matt Clark is too, and Nick admits he may need to deal with Matt permanently before this is over.

Sharon isn’t thrilled to have Matt around either, though she’s conflicted since she watched him save Nick’s life once already. Nick worries about what Matt’s capable of, and Sharon gently asks if he’d consider self-medicating to cope with that fear. He promises her he won’t let anyone down again, and the two decide to check in on Noah instead of spiraling further.

Matt Clark Threatens to Leave Genoa City

At the Shadow Room, Matt surprises Sienna Wong, who reminds him she once wanted both his admiration and his fear. He claims he doesn’t want either anymore, inviting her out for ice cream with his security detail in tow. She admits there were good things about him once, even after the initial spark faded, and wonders aloud if she was hoping for something that was never really there.

Matt gets emotional, admitting he wanted love from her but never had it in him to give. He also confesses he’s tempted to lie about “the Victor stuff,” and that he doesn’t trust Victor or any of the Newmans. When Noah Newman walks in and finds them together, he explodes, reminding Matt he was ordered to stay away from Sienna. Matt fires back that maybe Noah’s the real problem if he’s determined to control what other adults do. The argument escalates until Nick and Sharon walk in on it, ordering Matt to back off. Matt, exhausted with trying to prove he’s not a monster, declares he’s done chasing forgiveness and announces he’s leaving town before Victor decides to bury him for good.
