DAYS OF OUR LIVES HANDED SALEM FIVE GENUINE SHOCKS

TL;DR: Days of Our Lives did not let up this week. A doctor vanished mid-diagnosis, leaving Lexie to face her death sentence alone, Chad and Belle uncovered proof that Stefano is playing a very real game, EJ got fired from his own hospital as Gwen bought him out, Tate found pills that were never his, and Gwen ended her victory lap face to face with a masked stranger. Salem is not okay, and neither are we.

A Doctor Vanishes, and Lexie’s Diagnosis Turns Fatal

On Monday, EJ came home to find Lexie Carver collapsed on the floor, and rushed to call for Dr. Rolf, only for Rita to reveal the shocking truth: Rolf had fled Salem entirely, leaving Lexie with no one to slow her decline. Rita coldly informed EJ that Lexie would fade in and out until the very end, with nothing left to be done.

By Thursday, the horror deepened. Lexie collapsed again, this time mid-confession to Kristen DiMera in the park, forced to admit she is dying all over again and begging Kristen to keep her secret. She made Kristen swear she would not tell Abe or Theo, determined to disappear rather than let her family watch her die twice.

Nikki Crawford has been quietly devastating in these scenes, playing Lexie’s fear and fury with a stillness that makes every collapse land like a gut-punch for Days of Our Lives fans.

A Secret Symbol Confirms Someone Is Playing a Deadly Game

On Wednesday, Chad DiMera and Belle Black finally cracked open the mystery program, and it took Belle’s father’s own blacklight to reveal a hidden Celtic knot glowing on the back, proof that this was no accident.

The discovery confirmed their worst fear: Stefano is orchestrating a real-time game, and someone had been watching Chad and Belle closely enough to hand them the clue directly in the square.

Conner Floyd and Martha Madison sold the dawning dread beautifully, especially the moment Chad flatly declared the whole thing officially too dangerous, only for Belle to push forward anyway, classic Days of Our Lives stubbornness.

EJ Gets Fired, and Gwen Buys the Hospital Out From Under Him

Friday delivered one of the sweetest reversals of the year: EJ DiMera tried to fire Sarah in front of the entire reception area, only for Kayla Brady Johnson to announce that EJ himself was no longer the hospital’s owner.

He has 90 days to vacate once the buyout finalizes, and the buyer is none other than Gwen Rizczech, who wasted no time rubbing his failed miracle drug in his face.

Dan Feuerriegel has never looked more rattled on this show, and Emily O’Brien milked every second of Gwen’s victory lap, one of the sweetest boardroom reversals Days of Our Lives has delivered in ages.

Tate Finds Pills Planted in His Own Bag

While helping Holly Jonas get ready to finally leave the hospital, Tate Black reached into his bag looking for a hair tie and instead pulled out pills that were never his, planted evidence courtesy of EJ’s ongoing frame job.

It’s a smaller moment compared to some of the week’s bigger bombshells, but it’s the one that could blow EJ’s entire scheme wide open if the wrong person finds those pills first.

Leo Howard played the confusion perfectly, letting the moment land as a slow burn instead of a jump scare.

Gwen Is Grabbed by a Masked Man

Gwen thought she had won the week, making calls alone in the park about her big hospital purchase, when a masked man grabbed her from behind, cutting the episode off on the most gutting cliffhanger of the week.

No one saw it happen, no one knows yet, and Salem has no idea its newest hospital owner might already be in serious trouble.

It is the kind of cliffhanger only Days of Our Lives can pull off convincingly, turning a triumphant Friday into a genuine scare in five seconds flat.

Drop your predictions in the comments below, who do you think is under that mask, and is Gwen already in over her head?
