BILLY ABBOTT OFFERS CANE ASHBY A DEMOTION HE CAN’T ACCEPT

TL;DR: Billy Abbott declares war on Cane Ashby at Jabot, dangling a demotion to R&D if he switches sides on the Chancellor takeover. Danny Romalotti buys into the Shadow Room to prove he’s staying in Genoa City for good. Victoria Newman leans on Kyle Abbott for comfort as Nick’s rehab stint weighs on the whole family.

Billy Abbott Threatens Cane Ashby’s Future

Jack Abbott ships his sisters off to talk sense into Billy, then gets left holding the bag with Cane Ashby at Jabot to settle this Y&R Chancellor war, because nothing says family business quite like round two of the same blood feud. Jack begs for calm, but Cane knows better. Billy Abbott doesn’t do calm, he does scorched earth.

Cane scoffs that Billy’s “proof” wouldn’t survive a parking ticket dispute, let alone a courtroom, and he refuses to let Lily’s company get torched over paperwork older than Connor’s baseball glove. Jack shrugs that he doesn’t have all the answers, conveniently forgetting he’s the one who handed Billy his office key in the first place.

Cane Ashby isn’t playing nice anymore. He warns Jack that if Billy so much as breathes on Lily, he’ll have to go through him, and he’s officially done watching Billy cosplay as God.

Enter Billy Abbott, fresh off a pep talk from his sisters that clearly didn’t take. Chancellor belongs to the Abbotts, he insists, and he’s got the receipts to prove it, right after he dangles Cane a “generous” demotion to R&D. Nothing says generosity quite like exile to the basement.

Cane laughs in his face, reminding him that even his own legal team calls his case about as sturdy as a house of cards in a hurricane. Billy doubles down, offering to throw him a bone if he helps hand over the keys, an offer so insulting he doesn’t even bother responding to it.

Ashby delivers the final warning: come after Lily, and it’s war. Billy Abbott insists he only wants Chancellor, not the whole world, which is rich coming from a man who tried demoting someone into oblivion. He storms off when Jack refuses to pick a side.

Danny Romalotti Buys Into Genoa City

At the Shadow Room, Danny Romalotti serenades Michael Baldwin and Lauren Fenmore before Christine Blair walks in, half-covering her eyes like she’s bracing for a musical crime. The song started life as a breakup ballad, but Danny’s ready to rewrite the ending.

Then comes the real bombshell: he’s bought half the club, official proof he’s done chasing tour buses and finally putting down roots. Christine is thrilled, and once they’re alone, they seal it with a kiss and a hunt for the club’s hidden VIP room.

Victoria Newman Leans on an Old Friend

At Crimson Lights, Kyle Abbott checks in on Victoria Newman, offering to listen as a friend even though their fathers are busy staging their own personal war. She admits asking Nick to the vow renewal is a rookie mistake in hindsight, and she wishes she could carry some of her brother’s pain herself.

Claire Newman and Holden Novak wander in and catch the two together, trading the kind of awkward hello that screams “we saw nothing” before retreating to the patio. Out there, Holden fills Claire in on the Chancellor blowup and admits he’s exhausted by all the spying and chaos swirling around Billy’s latest crusade.

Team Cane or Team Billy?

Billy might be waving decades-old paperwork like a golden ticket, but Cane Ashby has Lily, an actual legal team, and a company full of people who don’t want an Abbott playing dictator. A demotion dressed up as a mercy offer is still an insult wearing a bow, and Cane isn’t the type to fold because someone waves an old contract in his face.

Genoa City has survived plenty of family wars, but this one could split the Abbotts wide open before it’s over. Tell us who you think walks away owning Chancellor on our Facebook page.
