Billy tells Audra he could be running Chancellor as early as next week. She asks the obvious question, the one his fiancee should have been asked first, which is what Sally will think of all this. Billy waves it off and says Sally will trust his judgment. On The Young and the Restless, that sentence has never once been the end of anything.

Audra says she wants to live up to Sally’s trust, Billy praises her for being such a good friend to Sally, and the two of them agree out loud that neither one wants to hurt her. Audra Knew About Chancellor Before Sally Did

Here is the part that should sting. Billy Abbott has been sitting on a decades-old loan document he believes hands Chancellor to his family, and he told Audra about it while Sally was in Los Angeles with her sister Coco Spectra, who was having surgery. Our earlier look at Sally’s pregnancy and the wedding she is quietly building showed a woman planning a whole life around this man. She came home to find him toasting the biggest news of his year with somebody else.

The corporate war underneath it is genuinely ugly. Billy Abbott told Cane Ashby and Lily Winters flat out that Chancellor Industries belongs to him, and Lily fired him for it on Monday. Cane called him a delusional brat. Jack Abbott has spent the week briefing the rest of the family and trying to keep his brother from torching what is left of the peace.

Are Billy Abbott And Audra Charles Having An Affair On Young And The Restless?

No. Nothing romantic has aired between them and nothing romantic has been confirmed. What aired is a friendship toast, and here is the detail nobody else is putting at the center of this story: Audra was read into the Chancellor bombshell before the woman who calls her a best friend was. My gut tells me Sally does not storm in swinging at her best friend. She swings at Billy Abbott, and the charge is not cheating. It is that he folded a friend into his engagement and his obsession while she sat in a hospital hallway waiting on her sister.

Reading between the lines, Audra becomes the evidence rather than the crime. Every time Sally replays that toast, she is going to hear a man who found it easier to celebrate with a friend than to pick up the phone and call his fiancee. If the writers wanted a slow burn instead of a screaming match, they lit the fuse perfectly on Wednesday.
