Days of Our Lives Comings and Goings Bring a Patriarch and His Family Home
Matthew Ashford is back in Salem as Jack Deveraux, arriving Tuesday, August 25, and airing again Friday, August 28. A patriarch stepping back onto the canvas after any absence tends to shake loose old business fast, and Jack has never been the type to ease back in quietly.
He’s not traveling solo. Jack’s grandchildren return with him in recast form on Tuesday, August 25: Cole Gersmeyertakes over as Thomas DiMera, and Pippa Blaylock steps into Charlotte DiMera. Alexander Elijah Bond and Autumn Gendron previously brought Thomas and Charlotte to life, so this is a full generational refresh for the DiMera kids arriving in the same week as their grandfather.
Richard Wharton resurfaces Monday, August 24, as Dr. Wilhelm Rolf, a name that rarely shows up in Salem without a scheme attached to it. Rolf’s history with the DiMera family makes his timing here worth watching closely, especially with a new generation of DiMeras now settling in.
Judi Evans pops in Thursday, August 27, as Bonnie Lockhart, a face that tends to bring chaos wherever she lands. Salem regulars know better than to assume her visits are ever purely social.
Sydney Malakeh has also joined the cast in an undisclosed role, with her debut locked in for September 9. DAYS has kept the details completely under wraps, and fans are already speculating about who she might be playing.

Salem Says Two Goodbyes
Peter Porte has wrapped his run as Dimitri Von Leuschner, with his last episode airing August 19. It closes out a storyline that had been running hot for weeks, and his exit leaves a real gap in the Alamainia scenes.
Nikki Crawford has also wrapped her time on the show, saying goodbye as Lexie Carver, who died in the August 21 episode. Crawford reflected on the role afterward on Instagram, calling it “a beautiful ride” and thanking fans for the years they spent with the character.
