THIS YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS RECAP CATCHES JACK ABBOTT FAKING A HEART ATTACK WHILE DIANE JENKINS SELLS THE PERFORMANCE OF HER LIFE

This Young and the Restless Recap finds Jack Abbott and Diane Jenkins staging a fake medical emergency to lure Patty Williams into a trap. Phyllis Summers finally gets the truth out of Matt Clark about Patty’s visit, Sally Spectra recruits Adam Newman to spread the fake story, and Patty cancels her escape the second she hears Jack is in the hospital.

Jack Abbott and Diane Jenkins Pull Off Their Wildly Delicious Con

At Society, Billy Abbott calls an ambulance the instant Jack Abbott grabs his chest and goes down, and Diane Jenkinsthrows herself into full panic mode over him. Kyle Abbott rushes over water while Jack gasps for breath, and honestly, the man deserves a standing ovation.

When the ambulance finally arrives, everyone begs him to hold on, insisting they did not nearly lose him once already to lose him now for real. The whole restaurant buys it completely, which is exactly the point.

At the hospital afterward, Diane tells Jack he gave an Oscar-worthy performance, and he admits he hated putting her through even fake anguish. They are both relieved that Burrow and a few off-duty paramedics agreed to play along with the ruse.

Diane Jenkins confesses the stunt drags her right back to the night she found Jack bleeding on the floor, and she wonders out loud how many more times this cycle can repeat before Patty actually kills one of them. A tray crashes somewhere nearby and she jumps, certain for a second that Patty is already there. Jack Abbott insists they are safe and reminds her Patty needs closure too badly to resist taking the bait.

Phyllis Summers Gets the Truth Out of Matt Clark

Back at the Riverbank Motel, Phyllis Summers catches a very specific perfume in the air and puts it together instantly: Patty Williams was there. Panting, she demands Matt Clark tell her the truth, and he finally admits Patty tracked him down by following her, and that Patty knows all about their “super hot connection.”

Matt reveals Patty warned him it is only a matter of time before Phyllis stabs him in the back again, and he cannot fully argue with a woman who has apparently been right before. Phyllis refuses to accept that logic, insisting Patty is only trying to drag out his darker side so he becomes her partner in crime again.

She tells him to trust her instead of a psychopath, and pitches turning the tables on Patty in a way that benefits them both, casting themselves as the heroes who take her down for good. Matt worries they are playing with fire, but Phyllis is confident Patty is the only one who ends up burned.

Genoa City’s Media Machine Kicks Into Gear

At Crimson Lights, Sally Spectra tracks down Adam Newman for a favor she calls a matter of life and death, and it has nothing to do with the baby. She wants Newman Media to lean into Patty’s obsession with Jack and break the story of his hospitalization before anyone suspects a setup, and Adam happily agrees to help.

Over at Jabot, Billy and Kyle admit the fake collapse felt a little too real, since people at Society were genuinely crying, and Sally confirms her end of the plan is already rolling. They can only hope the Young and the Restless police presence holds up better than recent history in this town suggests it will.

At the Newman Ranch, Victor Newman presses Adam for updates once he learns the collapse was staged, already turning over how Patty’s fixation on Jack might work in his own favor. Adam warns that getting involved could reignite old wounds with Nikki, but his father refuses to back off.

In an alley, Patty curls up with her stray cat and admits her call with Jack has given her second thoughts about leaving the country. The second she spots the news of Jack’s hospitalization trending online, she scraps her exit plan entirely, certain fate handed her one more shot at him. Right on cue, Matt Clark calls, and Patty giggles that she always knew they were not finished with each other.
